Overview
The role supports the Global Engagement (GE) division by translating data into actionable insights that enable evidence-based decision-making. Driving data literacy across GE strengthens information management consistency and ensures timely, efficient, and innovative use of data to enhance fundraising, communications, anticipatory actions and response mechanisms.
Key Responsibilities
Data & Analytical Insights
● Understand the data and analytical needs of the Global Engagement division and deliver relevant, high-quality data-driven insights and tools.
● Collaborate with colleagues to analyse quantitative and qualitative data to identify trends, gaps, and emerging needs, and monitor the effectiveness of GE initiatives.
● Translate analytical insights into clear, practical recommendations and present them to internal collaborators to support fact-based decision-making.
● Design and maintain dashboards and visual products that present complex data in a clear, interpretable, and decision-oriented format.
Information Management Systems & Standards
● Lead and contribute to the establishment and continuous improvement of data management systems for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data related to current and future GE projects and programmes.
● Support in the establishment of the project management and tracking system (GEMS - Global Engagement Management Suite)
● Implement, promote, and monitor IM guidelines, projects, and tools to ensure consistency, quality, and reliability of information management practices across GE.
● Collaborate internally to ensure data is disseminated in a timely, accessible, and user-friendly format tailored to different audiences and decision-making needs.
● Provide guidance and support to GE colleagues on data interpretation, visualisation, and responsible data use.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
● Work closely with teams within GE to co-develop impactful, data-driven insights that support fundraising, communications, advocacy, and predictive analysis.
● Collaborate with stakeholders to identify required datasets, address data gaps, and facilitate appropriate data sharing.
● Actively seek and assess new internal and external data sources that add strategic value to GE’s work.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
● Enhancing data readiness and improving the effective use of tools and technologies for evidence-based decision-making.
● Ensure information management approaches are timely, efficient, effective, and innovative, aligned with organisational priorities and humanitarian principles.
● Support the promotion of a culture of data-informed decision-making within GE, encouraging the routine use of insights to improve planning, implementation, and learning.
Volunteer Management
● Oversee volunteer management within the International Affairs team, including coordination, engagement, and deployment.
Job Specifications
Qualifications & Experience
● Degree in Information Management, Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
● Some experience in information management, data analysis, or monitoring and evaluation, preferably within a humanitarian, development, or non-profit context.
● Demonstrated experience in analysing data and developing dashboards and visual products for decision-making.
● Strong analytical skills with experience using data analysis and visualisation tools
● Understanding of data management systems, data quality standards, and information management best practices.
● Ability to work with both quantitative and qualitative data.
