The Department of Political Science at the National University of Singapore invites applications for the tenure-track position of Presidential Young Professor (PYP) at the rank of Assistant Professor, to commence in July 2027. Job Description

Purpose of the post

This role provides QA support across document control, batch record management, training records, supplier documentation, audits, and quality system activities. Responsibilities include maintaining quality registers, tracking due dates and CAPA actions, supporting Bizzmine eQMS document control, checking Batch Manufacturing Records for completeness, and assisting with QA reporting and trending. The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant for Geroprotectors in Reproductive Ageing in Professor Brian Kennedy’s Centre for Healthy Longevity (CHL) lab in Healthy Longevity Translational Research Programme, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. CHL focuses on translational research targeting healthy aging, with particular emphasis on the use of repurposed drugs and natural compounds to improve reproductive healthspan. Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to ensure the rigorous execution of experimental protocols and timely progression of project milestones. The RA’s role will be to screen for compounds that will increase reproductive health using the C. elegans model, and to study the effects of the compounds with aged mice models.

Main duties and responsibilities

Qualifications

Essential

• A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in public health, health policy, health systems, environmental health, economics, social policy, or a related field.
• 3-8 years of experience in research, public policy, evidence synthesis, policy-facing roles, or related functions.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and translate complex technical or research material into clear, structured, and compelling outputs for varied audiences.
• Strong analytical and writing skills, with excellent editorial judgement and the ability to distil evidence without oversimplifying it.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and engaging senior stakeholders across research, policy, and implementation settings.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.

Highly desirable

• Experience working with governments, multilateral organisations, or large health systems.
• Familiarity with climate, sustainability, or health system transformation agendas.
• Experience working at the interface of research, policy, and implementation.
• Experience supporting dissemination of research through policy products, technical guidance, publications, or high-level stakeholder briefings.
• Experience supporting regional or international partnerships.

Job Description

The Research Assistant will participate in a research project which examines key processes of carbon cycling in blue carbon ecosystems. Bulk of the research will focus on mesocosm experiments in ex situ aquaria.

The Research Assistant will lead and execute mesocosm experiments, laboratory analysis and data curation. Fieldwork in seagrass and mangrove habitats will be required. Specific tasks include:

• Planning and conducting experimental and laboratory work
• Collection and analysis of data
• Performing basic administrative duties
• Some outreach duties are expected

This position reports to the Principle Investigator at Tropical Marine Science Institute and is based at St John Island National Marine Laboratory on offshore St John Island, Singapore. This position is for 1 year; after first year, renewal is subjected to performance review. 

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biological Science, Environmental Science, or related field
• Proficient with basic Microsoft Suite and basic statistical analyses
• Prior experience for seawater aquarium facilities, and marine and intertidal field work is highly preferred
• Must be willing to do intertidal field work, which entails working in muddy environment and working around low tide timings
• Self-motivated, driven, and a keen interest in research
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English

Job Description

•    Geospatial & Environmental Analytics: Assist in quantifying the built and natural environment using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and spatial network analyses. Process complex datasets related to urban morphology, microclimate, and social infrastructure.
•    Fieldwork & Data Collection: Conduct on-site microclimate and visual environment audits using portable sensors across selected HDB precincts.
•    Data Processing & Modeling: Utilize scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, R) to analyze large-scale spatial data, integrating environmental metrics with developmental health outcomes
•    Research & Dissemination: Publish findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
•    Contribute to policy briefs, technical reports, and outreach materials for industry and government stakeholders.
•    Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination: Coordinate with project partners, government agencies, and industry stakeholders, including organising and participating in meetings, workshops, and knowledge-sharing sessions.

Qualifications

Essential:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Urban Science/Analytics, Computational Biology, Environmental Systems, Data Science, Digital Humanities, or a closely related field.
•    Proven proficiency in computational programming and data analysis (Python, MATLAB, R, C++).
•    Demonstrated experience with CAD or geospatial analysis software (e.g., QGIS, ENVI). Familiarity with 3D computational modeling tools (e.g., Rhino3D)  and the ability to adapt to parametric design software (e.g., Rhino/Grasshopper).
•    Strong portfolio or proven experience in data visualization, UI/UX design, and digital media utilizing the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects).
