Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Application Support Engineer (Level 2) to support and enhance the exchange’s core business systems. This role combines production support and development work, offering exposure to mission-critical platforms. You will troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and collaborate with business users to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 application support for mission-critical exchange systems
• Monitor daily production systems and ensure operational stability
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application and system issues
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes
• Work closely with business users to analyse requirements and propose solutions
• Design, develop, and implement system enhancements where required
• Support deployment activities and release management
• Collaborate with development teams across the full software development lifecycle
• Prepare technical documentation and operational procedures
• Participate in incident management and production support activities
• Assist in performance tuning and system optimisation

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software development or application support
• Experience with at least one programming language: Java, JavaScript, or Python
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
• Experience with relational database design and SQL
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (HTTP, TCP, UDP)
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environment
• Strong shell scripting skills preferred
• Exposure to full software development lifecycle in large-scale systems
• Open to shift work/ work on public holiday (when required) 

Preferred

• Experience in financial services / trading / exchange environment
• Experience supporting mission-critical production systems
• Familiarity with incident management and SLA-driven support
• Knowledge of system monitoring tools

Mandatory Skill-set

• Must have minimum 6 years of experience in application support or development roles;

• Deliver L1 and L2 support for a wide range of enterprise applications across Corporate Services, IT Security, HR, and other shared functions;

• Engage with users across multiple channels, ensuring timely and professional support;
• Take ownership of incidents, service requests, and problem resolution, with clear and structured documentation in JIRA;
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive quick and effective issue resolution;
• Act as a bridge between users, project teams, and infrastructure to ensure smooth request handling;
• Proactively monitor application health and perform readiness checks before business hours;
• Drive follow-ups and provide regular updates on critical or escalated issues;
• Flexible to work in rotational shifts, including on-call support, weekends, and public holidays.
