Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems & Network Engineer to support security-centric infrastructure projects. The role involves system and network infrastructure engineering, implementation, operations support, technical escalation, security hardening, compliance activities and stakeholder coordination.
This position is suitable for candidates with strong hands-on experience in systems, networking, security infrastructure and project implementation across physical and virtualised environments.
Key Responsibilities
Provide system and network infrastructure engineering support for small to large-scale security-focused infrastructure projects.
Work closely with solution architects to define the best approach for system and network design and implementation across physical and virtualised environments.
Act as the technical escalation point and subject matter expert for system security, network architecture, implementation and operations.
Lead technical implementation of new network and system solutions, working alongside project managers, customers, telcos and product partners.
Perform and validate system and network hardening activities and maintain baseline configuration documentation.
Lead ad-hoc technical activities such as major maintenance, migrations and disaster recovery exercises.
Support compliance and audit activities to ensure policies, standards and procedures are properly enforced.
Mentor and guide junior engineers where required.
Provide standby support after office hours when needed.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Information Security or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in systems, network infrastructure or security infrastructure roles.
Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals and industry-standard IT protocols.
Hands-on experience with Windows, Linux, VMware and/or Hyper-V environments.
Strong experience with Next-Generation Firewalls, VPN, switching/routing, load balancers and proxies.
Experience in Windows Server domain environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP and SCCM.
Good understanding of system and network security, including hardening, patching, capacity planning and design.
Experience in scripting, resource capacity planning and system design will be an added advantage.
Good communication skills with a proactive, driven and team-oriented working attitude.
Preferred Skills and Certifications
Professional IT or security certifications such as ITIL, CCNA, CCNP, MCSE or VMware certification will be preferred.
Certifications or hands-on experience in Microsoft, VMware, Cisco, Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet or F5 technologies will be an advantage.
Advanced certifications such as CCIE or CISSP will be advantageous.
