The Business Development Manager will undergo structured training under the direct guidance of the Director to understand the full workflow of a small-scale wholesale trading business operating under the Home-Based Business Scheme. The attachment will focus on hands-on exposure to market development, client acquisition, supplier coordination, documentation control, partnership building, and logistics planning to support business growth while ensuring smooth and compliant day-to-day operations.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Director in developing and expanding business opportunities for the wholesale trading operations.
2. Communicate with potential and existing clients to introduce products, provide quotations, and maintain strong business relationships.
3. Conduct basic market research to identify new customers, suppliers, and partnership opportunities.
4. Prepare and issue quotations, sales proposals, purchase orders, delivery orders, and invoices accurately.
5. Coordinate with suppliers and logistics providers to ensure smooth order fulfillment and timely delivery.
6. Support the Director in negotiating basic commercial terms with suppliers and customers.
7. Maintain proper documentation and filing of sales records, supplier agreements, and transaction documents.
8. Monitor customer inquiries, follow up on leads, and assist in converting potential clients into active customers.
9. Track order progress and maintain communication with customers regarding order status.
10. Assist in identifying alternative suppliers and new product opportunities to expand the company’s offerings.
Technical Skills and Competencies:
1. Knowledge of wholesale trade processes, market development, and supplier coordination.
2. Ability to prepare commercial documents such as quotations, proposals, invoices, and purchase orders.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic CRM tools for documentation, tracking, and client management.
4. Strong record-keeping, document management, and reporting skills.
5. Basic understanding of logistics coordination, delivery planning, and order fulfillment.
6. Ability to analyze supplier pricing, compare cost structures, and identify business opportunities.
