Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services for cloud-native digital products. This role involves developing APIs, improving system reliability and observability, working closely with DevOps teams on CI/CD automation, and applying modern engineering practices such as TDD, microservices, containerisation, and cloud architecture.

Job Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to refine user stories and translate them into technical requirements.
• Work closely with QA engineers to ensure automated test coverage and resolve bugs or defects.
• Partner with DevOps teams to automate build, deployment, and monitoring pipelines.
• Develop and maintain APIs and backend services in a cloud-native environment.
• Implement modern software engineering practices such as TDD, pair programming, and CI/CD.
• Conduct code reviews, enforce security best practices, and ensure clean, maintainable code.
• Design and document system architecture in compliance with security and regulatory standards.
• Work with product teams to build end-to-end digital products.
• Improve backend systems for scalability, observability, reliability, and performance.
• Contribute to blockchain and smart contract development where applicable.

Job Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
• Experience with Git and modern branching workflows such as GitFlow or trunk-based development.
• Proficient in backend programming languages such as Java, Python, Golang, Node.js, or Shell Scripting.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven patterns such as Kafka or RabbitMQ will be an advantage.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
• Knowledge of database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Redis.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with API documentation tools such as Swagger.
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments such as Scrum or Kanban.
• Knowledge of XP practices such as TDD, pair programming, and continuous refactoring.
• Strong understanding of test automation frameworks such as JUnit or PyTest.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work directly with agencies, enabling them to develop robust systems for Weather Information Dissemination.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be working on:

·      Partner with software engineers and other functions to understand objectives for development delivery efficiency and system resiliency, helping them articulate how specific technical capabilities and best practices will achieve key business outcomes.

·      Conduct comprehensive assessments of client's existing technical landscapes, workflows, and processes to identify inefficiencies, pain points, and gaps that hinder their goals.

·      Collaborate with client to identify the most relevant practices (e.g., CI/CD,SRE) for using Core Engineering Products in achieving their goals, considering unique needs and industry best practices.

·      Develop transition roadmaps that outline a clear path from the current state to the desired future state, including the adoption of recommended tools and processes.

·      Explain complex concepts clearly to various stakeholders, providing actionable recommendations for improving workflows and addressing their challenges, and providing supporting diagrams as needed.

·      Support with proof of concept (POC)initiatives to validate solutions, offering hands-on assistance during early implementation phases to enable smooth transitions to full-scale rollouts.

·      Collaborate closely with fellow Software Engineers to exchange insights, share tools and scripts, and foster a collaborative environment that supports continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

What we are looking for:

·      6+ years in an individual contributor software engineering role.

·      Experience with NodeJs with TypeScript.

·      Experience with one or more of Cloud Service Providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

·      Experience building cron jobs and scripts to run batch jobs.

·      Experience with streaming data.

·      Strong track record of successful large-scale partner solution implementations, preferably in complex enterprise environments

·      Exceptional communication skills with ability to bridge technical discussions between internal teams and external partners

·      Experience working in highly secured and air gap systems is a plus (i.e. banking, government systems and similar)

Job Description

• Lead and perform tasks in RTL synthesis, floor planning, placement, clock tree synthesis, routing, and physical verification.
• Manage signoff activities including Static Timing Analysis (STA), EMIR, and Physical Verification (PV) to ensure tape out-quality designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DFT, RTL, STA, Packaging) to drive seamless integration and execution.
• Plan, monitor, and execute project execution, set deadlines, track milestones, and report progress to leadership.
• Guide, mentor, and develop the team, fostering technical excellence and a collaborative environment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design challenges, proactively communicating risks and mitigation strategies.
• Interface with EDA vendors and keep up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and methodologies.
• Prepare and deliver technical presentations, document processes, and contribute to organizational knowledge base.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering.
• Hands-on experience in physical design, including synthesis, PNR, STA, EMIR, and PV is a plus.
• Strong expertise with EDA tools: Synopsys, Cadence, or Siemens (e.g., Design Compiler, IC Compiler, Fusion Compiler, Genus, Innovus, PrimeTime, Voltus, Calibre).
• Proven track record of successful tapeouts for complex semiconductor products.
• Solid understanding of power, performance, area (PPA) optimization techniques.
• Excellent project management skills, including resource planning, task tracking, and team leadership.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present technical material and interact confidently with cross-functional teams.
• Experience leading and mentoring engineers.
• Familiarity with advanced process nodes (3nm, 2nm)

Job Description

• Leading in-house engineering design works of Electrical / ELV System, including detailed design of MV / LV reticulation System, load calculation, voltage drop & fault level calculation, lighting lux simulation, lightning protection system, EVC System, access control system etc.
• Attend design coordinate meetings with main-con, consultants and other contractors.
• Coordinate with BIM / drafting personnel for the 3D model / drawings production for design drawing / shop drawings submission.
• Coordinate with BIM personnel for the Combined Services Drawings.
• Assist in preparing the material requisition for all Electrical / ELV equipment and materials.
• Assist site team in carrying out testing and commissioning, combined services testing for TOP/CSC,  
• Coordinate with other trade of contractors such as Mechanical System, Process System, Structural etc to capture.
• Participate in liaison with Electrical / ELV suppliers for quotation, carry out equipment selection, technical and commercial evaluation.
• Analyse, manage and track project costs against budget.
• Assist in preparing material submittals for electrical system to the Consultant for approval.
• Participate in tender preparation for new projects.

Requirements

• Min bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
• Min 5 years of Electrical Design working experience in building construction industry, preferable in handling Building Service Electrical / ELV / Lift & Escalator works.
• Good understanding of the relevant Code of Practice (Singapore or overseas).
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
• Tender Bidding and Project cost Analytical and Critical Thinking
• Proactive and willing to learn and take on new challenges.
• BCA/SCDF/PUB authority certification is an advantage
