We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented, and experienced Business Development Manager to drive business growth, secure new construction projects, and expand our market presence within the construction and engineering industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, managing client relationships, preparing tenders and proposals, and achieving revenue targets.

This position requires a proactive and hardworking individual with strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to generate new business. The candidate must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment and be prepared to work extended hours, weekends, and public holidays whenever required to meet business objectives and project deadlines.

Business Development and Market Expansion

• Identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities within the construction, engineering, infrastructure, and building sectors.
• Conduct market research to identify potential clients, projects, and emerging market trends.
• Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company growth objectives.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective projects and clients.
• Monitor industry developments, competitor activities, and market conditions.
• Explore opportunities for expansion into new markets and business sectors.

Client Acquisition and Relationship Management

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with developers, consultants, architects, engineers, government agencies, property owners, and key decision-makers.
• Conduct regular meetings, presentations, and networking activities to promote company services.
• Identify client needs and provide tailored solutions to meet project requirements.
• Maintain long-term client relationships to generate repeat business opportunities.

Tendering and Proposal Management

• Source and evaluate tender opportunities from public and private sectors.

• Ensure contractual obligations are clearly understood and communicated internally.

Strategic Partnerships and Networking

• Develop partnerships with contractors, suppliers, consultants, and industry stakeholders.
• Represent the company at industry events, conferences, exhibitions, and networking functions.
• Build a strong professional network to generate new business leads.
• Maintain positive relationships with government agencies and regulatory authorities where applicable.
• Collaborate with industry partners to identify joint venture and strategic alliance opportunities.

Sales and Revenue Growth

• Achieve annual sales targets and business development objectives.

Project Handover and Coordination

• Coordinate with project teams to ensure smooth transition from project award to project execution.

• Support project teams in managing client expectations.

• Assist in resolving commercial and contractual issues during project implementation.

Marketing and Brand Development

• Promote company capabilities and services to potential clients.

Reporting and Documentation

• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, business opportunities, and project pipelines.

Risk Assessment and Commercial Analysis

• Evaluate project opportunities from commercial and operational perspectives.

• Identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Support management in making informed business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor system performance and logs to identify potential issues.

• Provide timely resolution of technical issues in the production environment.

• Collaborate with development teams to debug and fix software bugs.

• Develop and implement solutions to enhance system performance and stability.

• Generate and maintain documentation for system operations and procedures.

• Perform routine maintenance and updates to production systems.

• Proactively identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.

• Offer 24/7 on-call support as required to address critical issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

• 3-8 years of experience in a production support or similar role.

• Standardized a monitoring framework for Service-Oriented Infrastructure supporting TIBCO BusinessWorks and EMS, enabling proactive health checks, service dashboards, and SLA tracking across Prod/SIT/UAT.

• Recovered failed batch jobs and triaged ETL issues to ensure uninterrupted data processing and reporting timelines.

• Supported ETL workflows where custody applications exchange data with internal systems via IBM MQ, storing processed data in Oracle DB.

• Developed and maintained Linux shell scripts for secure file transfers using SCP and IBM Connect:Direct, scheduled through IBM TWS.

• Automated routine operational checks using Python-based health check scripts, significantly reducing manual effort and turnaround time.

• Collaborated with development, infrastructure, and business teams to resolve defects and deploy fixes via CI/CD pipelines during approved change windows.

• Strong understanding of software development and debugging.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
