Job Description

• Assist in advising local & international clients on corporate and commercial law matters.
• Draft, strategiing ,review, and assist in negotiating corporate and commercial agreements, including shareholders' agreements, joint venture agreement, franchise agreement and other legal documents across different industries.
• Assist in mergers, acquisitions, disposals, and other corporate transactions, including due diligence exercises.
• Advise clients on company incorporations, resolutions, statutory filings, and corporate governance matters (where applicable).
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda or reports.
• Liaise with clients, regulators, and external parties under supervision.
• Support senior lawyer & Partner in transaction management and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal procedures.
• Travel outstation to organize corporate seminar.
• Organize and manage clients onsite signing ceremony.
• Attend overseas business trip.

Qualification

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent from a recognised institution.
• Called to the Malaysian Bar and admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya.
• 1-3 years of post-qualification experience in corporate, commercial legal practice, litigation and/or conveyancing practice.
• Prior corporate and/or litigation experience in a law firm or in-house legal department is preferred.
• Exposure to corporate transactions, commercial contracts, or regulatory work will be an advantage.
• Proficient in English & Mandarin (verbal and written).
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of corporate and commercial laws and litigation
• Good drafting and legal research skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to learn and take instructions from superior
• Plus point: Critical thinking skills & commercial sense
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research database
• Team-oriented with a professional and responsible attitude
• Able to work independently & think critically
• Committed & eager to learn & grow
