• Investment Roadmap Development: Design 5-to-10-year infrastructure investment plans. Identify optimal Point of Interconnection (POI) locations in the 132kV/275kV network where the grid is "thirsty" for BESS, ensuring long-term project bankability.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems) or Energy Policy & Planning.
• 8 years in Power System Planning, Transmission Engineering, or Grid Operations.
• Registered Professional Engineer (Ir.) or Graduate Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).

The Senior Grid System Design Engineer is the technical "Gatekeeper" for our BESS pipeline. This role carries dual responsibility: performing the advanced mathematical simulations required for TNB approval and acting as the primary technical auditor for BESS and PPC hardware suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• BESS Dynamic Modeling: Develop site-specific BESS models including Inverters (PCS), Battery
• Management Systems (BMS), and Power Plant Controllers (PPC). You must accurately model GridForming (GFM) logic, Virtual Inertia, and sub-50ms Fast Frequency Response (FFR).
• Supplier Technical Auditing: Critically review BESS and PPC supplier proposals. You must verify if their stated ramp rates, Round Trip Efficiency (RTE), and control loop latencies are mathematically achievable and compliant with TNB requirements.
• Grid Impact Studies: Lead the execution of Load Flow, Short Circuit, and Transient Stability studies. must specifically address Weak Grid ($SCR < 2.0$) challenges and ensure the BESS does not cause sub-synchronous oscillations.
• TNB Regulatory Representative: Serve as the lead technical representative at TNB GSO (EMS Unit) meetings. You will defend the simulation results and manage the end-to-end Interconnection Agreement (IA) process.
• Harmonic & Power Quality Validation: Perform detailed harmonic resonance studies to identify if a supplier's inverter switching frequency will clash with the local TNB grid impedance.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems or Power Electronics focus).
• Experience: * Minimum 8+ years in utility-scale power systems.
• Direct experience in modeling at least two utility-scale BESS projects (min 10MWh+) in a professional simulation environment.
• A proven track record of at least 3 successful TNB Grid Impact Study (GIS) approvals.
• Professional Status: Must be a Professional Engineer (Ir.) or a high-level Graduate Engineer registered with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
• Technical Authority: Ability to demonstrate prior experience in rejecting or correcting supplier technical designs based on simulation findings.

• Set up and drive operations of Green Energy Programmes between Solarvest and Centexs (Up to 4 programs such as Smart Solar PV, Green Mobility and Storage, Green Hydrogen, Hyperscale Green Data Centre and Smart Solar PV Installation)
• Coordinate licensing approvals with relevant authorities for Centexs
• Conduct refresher courses to the Centexs Trainers and participate in Students Engagement Initiatives in Kuching and Mukah
• Update program syllabus every 6 months including new syllabus content
• Drive the Trainer-the-Trainers for Hyperscale Green Data Centre with Strategic Partners
• Coordinate job placement for all trainees and support employability initiative by outreach/marketing events together with Centexs Employment Team
• Conduct the Operation and Maintenance activities of the Testbeds in Kuching and Mukah
• Coordinate Centexs rooftop monthly and project billings and payment collection
• Collaboration with Centexs R&I team to drive and support commercialisation of testbeds
• Invitation and involvement of industry experts to the Programs teaching
• Support Centexs on co-marketing and technology launching events, become the first contact point for any VIP visits to testbeds
• And any other assignment / task as deemed fit

• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• Electrical degree will be plus advantage
• Ability to multi-task and work in a startup environment
