Responsibilities
- Interpret spoken and written medical information accurately and impartially between patients and healthcare providers.
- Attend medical appointments, consultations, and procedures to provide real-time interpretation services.
- Ensure confidentiality and professional ethics are maintained at all times in accordance with healthcare regulations.
- Clarify and explain medical terminology and procedures to patients and healthcare teams as needed.
- Assist in the translation of medical documents and patient education materials when required.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to improve communication strategies and patient understanding.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare policies, and interpreting best practices.
- Fluency in English and at least one additional language either (Vietnamese / Ukrainian / Cantonese ) with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven experience as a medical interpreter or in a related role within the healthcare industry.
- Comprehensive understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and confidentiality standards.
- Certification or accreditation as a medical interpreter is highly preferred.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and empathetically.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and attend medical appointments as required.
