Job Description
Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and Bills of Quantities for construction projects
Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction period
Measure and value work done at site
Prepare and assess progress claims, variation orders, and final accounts
Evaluate tenders, quotations, and subcontractor claims
Assist in procurement of materials and subcontractors
Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, consultants, and contractors
Maintain proper cost records and project documentation
Ensure compliance with contract requirements and workplace safety regulations
Job Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline
Relevant experience in the construction sector
Knowledge of construction contracts and cost control procedures
Able to read and understand construction drawings
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic construction software
Good communication and teamwork skills
Able to work independently and meet project deadlines
Knowledge of local construction regulations is an advantage

Select welding equipment and methods according to project specifications to ensure quality welds
Identify metals and materials required for welding projects to prepare accurate work plans
Operate cutting and shaping equipment to prepare metal components for welding
Align metal components precisely using callipers, rulers, and clamps to ensure correct assembly
Fuse metal components using certified welding equipment to create strong, durable joints
Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to detect flaws and ensure compliance with quality standards
Conduct regular safety inspections on welding machines to maintain a safe working environment
Use electrical and manual tools effectively to support welding and metal preparation tasks
Required competencies and certifications
Certified welding qualification for welders
Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in the construction industry
Completion of primary, secondary school, or O Level education
