1. Regulatory Compliance & Safety Enforcement
- Ensure compliance with WSH regulations, company safety policies, and Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements.
- Monitor high-risk activities including lifting operations and enforce proper control measures.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
2. Site Inspection & Hazard Management
- Conduct daily site inspections and safety audits to identify and address unsafe acts and conditions.
- Highlight hazards to supervisors and ensure prompt corrective actions.
- Rectify or escalate unsafe conditions immediately.
- Promote reporting of near misses to strengthen safety culture and ISO.
3. Risk Assessment & Documentation
- Prepare and maintain Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and other safety documentation
- Maintain safety records, inspection reports, and compile reports for management or authorities when required.
4. Training & Safety Communication
- Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and worker inductions.
- Promote safety awareness and reinforce safe work practices on site.
5. Incident & Emergency Management
- Assist in accident investigations, prepare reports, and implement corrective measures.
- Prepare accident reports for internal review and submission to relevant authorities where required.
- Participate in emergency response drills and site emergency coordination.
6. Coordination & Liaison
- Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, management, and authorities on safety matters.
- Attend site safety meetings and support risk and compliance discussions.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Candidate with an Engineering background and 5 years or more of relevant experience as a Safety Officer within the construction industry are welcome to apply.
- Possess WSQ Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) accredited by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
- Possess relevant safety certifications such as Managing Work at Height (preferred).
- Candidates must be available to commence work as soon as possible.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and observation skills to effectively engage workers, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Able to work independently on site while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
- Fluent in both English and mandarin to prepare safety reports and effectively conduct site briefings with management and site personnels.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office for report preparation and documentation.
- Perform any ad hoc duties as assigned by management from time to time.
