This role is accountable for shaping the strategy and execution of DevOps and platform initiatives supporting the Software Defined Factory environment. The person will help improve operational efficiency across the AWS and PTC ecosystem, while advancing automation and maturing the software delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Program and Delivery Management
- Own and drive the transformation roadmap for edge and cloud platform capabilities.
- Lead project planning and execution across multiple stakeholders, tracking milestones, risks, and overall delivery status.
- Apply suitable delivery approaches such as Agile, Scrum, or blended models depending on project needs.
- Work closely with architects, engineering leads, product stakeholders, and design teams to ensure strong alignment and execution.
Edge Platform, Cloud, and DevOps
- Manage mid-sized migration initiatives with a focus on stability, security, performance, and cost control.
- Define and improve DevOps standards, frameworks, and tooling to increase engineering productivity and delivery speed.
- Lead the rollout and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines and automation practices across the environment.
- Continuously improve cloud infrastructure in terms of scalability, reliability, and spend efficiency.
- Oversee external technology partners, including commercial discussions, contract handling, and value optimization.
- Stay current on market developments and emerging technologies that can strengthen developer productivity, system resilience, and operational effectiveness.
- Provide leadership in enterprise-level edge platform and DevOps modernization efforts.
- Set and maintain best practices for infrastructure management, release processes, and operational support within the IoT platform landscape.
People Management
- Support team development through coaching, feedback, and career growth planning.
- Maintain regular communication with team members and manage performance review processes.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another relevant technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience across IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, DevOps, or related areas, ideally within manufacturing or plant-based operations.
- Familiarity with PTC tools such as Kepware and ThingWorx, along with Git-based release and CI/CD workflows using GitLab or GitHub.
- Strong practical experience with platforms and tools including OpenStack VMs, VMware, Red Hat OS virtualization, and container-as-a-service environments.
- Experience building and operating container platforms, including provisioning hosts and deploying or scaling applications through APIs, portals, or virtualized infrastructure.
- Solid background in CI/CD design and DevOps ecosystem implementation.
- Strong knowledge of high-availability database environments, especially PostgreSQL and InfluxDB, including migration and modernization from legacy setups to cloud-oriented architectures.
- Experience in monitoring, tuning, and improving systems for performance and scalability.
- Strong command of Kubernetes, OpenShift, containers, and cloud-native design patterns.
- Hands-on exposure to infrastructure-as-code and automation technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, and Helm.
- Strong understanding of AWS and hybrid or multi-cloud operating models.
- Strong leadership presence with effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to lead major transformation initiatives in large and complex enterprise settings.
