Responsibilities
- Manage the overall operation, maintenance, reliability, andcontinuous improvement of security systems in the data centre environment,including CCTV, access control, intrusion alarm, intercom, visitor management,and associated monitoring platforms etc
- Develop and implement Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM)schedules for security systems and ensure all activities are carried out inaccordance with manufacturers’ recommendations, site security procedures,workplace safety requirements, and contractual obligations.
- Lead fault response, troubleshooting, and recovery forcritical security system failures with timely escalation during criticalincidents.
- Review system health, asset condition, lifecycle risks,firmware/software support status, and obsolescence concerns, and recommendrepair, replacement, upgrade, or migration plans to maintain system integrityand resilience.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure securitysystem works are executed without compromising site operations, uptime, safety,or compliance.
- Plan and manage installation, expansion, upgrading, andA&A works for security systems, including design review, technicalsubmittals, testing and commissioning, method statements, MOPs, and as-builtdocumentation.
- Work closely with vendors and contractors on specialistmaintenance, breakdown rectification, software support, spare strategy,warranty claims, and service performance, ensuring timely response andcompliance with SLA/KPI requirements.
- Prepare incident reports, technical findings, root causeanalysis, and corrective action plans for security-related faults, systemoutages, unauthorized access events, and operational deviations.
- Manage inventory of critical spares, consumables, tools,licenses, and support subscriptions required for continuous operation of thesecurity systems in a mission-critical environment.
- Participate in audits, client reviews, emergency drills, andsite inspections, ensuring security systems and related work activities complywith data centre house rules, permit-to-work requirements, cybersecuritycontrols, and the highest prevailing market standards for safety andoperational discipline.
- Supervise security system technicians and service partnersonsite, ensuring work quality, documentation, housekeeping, safe workpractices, and adherence to approved RAMS, PTW, LOTO, and site accessrequirements.
- Provide 24/7 technical support and leadership during majorincidents affecting physical security systems that may impact site operations,regulatory compliance, or customer confidence.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Electrical Electronic Engineering/Mechatronics, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in security systems,preferably in data centre, critical facility, or high-security environment.
- Strong understanding of CCTV, access control, intrusionalarm, structured cabling, controller architecture, software configuration, andintegration with network or building systems.
- Able to interpret drawings, single-line schematics, devicelayout plans, cause-and-effect logic, technical manuals, and method statementswith high level of accuracy and attention to detail in execution anddocumentation.
- Familiarity with data centre operational discipline, criticalenvironment change control, incident escalation, and service continuityexpectations.
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements, permit-to-workcontrol, work at height, lock out/tag out, and safe execution in liveoperational environments.
- Certificationin workplace safety (eg. WSQ, WSH) and security-system-related training will be an advantage.
