About the Role

The client is seeking experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth within the High-Net-Worth (HNW) intermediary channel. You will be responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with HNW insurance brokers, wealth advisory firms, private banks, family offices, and key distribution partners to grow new business and market share.

This role requires a strong understanding of HNW insurance solutions, intermediary distribution, relationship management, and business development within the life insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute distribution strategies to grow premium production through HNW insurance brokers and strategic intermediary partners.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with broker principals, advisers, case managers, and key decision-makers.
• Identify new business opportunities and expand the insurer's presence within the HNW and affluent client segment.
• Conduct regular broker visits, business reviews, product presentations, and training sessions.
• Drive awareness and adoption of life insurance, wealth preservation, legacy planning, and protection solutions.
• Partner closely with underwriting, operations, product, and case management teams to deliver exceptional service to intermediaries.
• Provide market intelligence, competitor insights, and feedback on broker needs and emerging opportunities.
• Support complex case discussions and work alongside brokers to structure suitable solutions for HNW clients.
• Monitor sales performance, pipeline activity, and production metrics against agreed targets.
• Ensure all business activities comply with regulatory and internal governance requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in life insurance distribution, broker relationship management, business development, or intermediary sales.
• Good understanding of life insurance, wealth planning, estate planning, and HNW client needs.
• Proven track record of achieving sales, distribution, or business development targets.
• Strong stakeholder management, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Pricing & Procurement
• Manage air freight pricing including spot quotations, tariff rates, and contract pricing
• Lead airline rate procurement to ensure competitive and market-aligned pricing
• Negotiate rates, space allocations, and capacity commitments with airlines, GSAs, and partners
• Optimise pricing structures to maximise profitability and margins

Business Development, Commercial Support & RFQ Management
• Identify and develop new business opportunities through analysis of market freight data and pricing strategies

• Lead and support RFQs, tenders, and bidding processes for both new and existing accounts
• Work closely with Sales teams to strengthen pricing strategies and improve win rates

Market Intelligence & Analysis
• Monitor market trends, rate movements, and competitor pricing
• Identify opportunities to improve pricing competitiveness
• Maintain visibility of airline costs, routes, and capacity conditions

Carrier Management & Coordination
• Build and maintain strong relationships with airlines, GSAs, and strategic partners
• Communicate updates on surcharges, market changes, and carrier notices
• Optimise load planning and space utilisation based on daily allocations

Internal Collaboration & Compliance
• Collaborate with Operations, Sales, and overseas offices to align pricing strategies
• Ensure compliance with internal pricing policies and approval processes
• Maintain and update pricing systems, databases, and tools for efficiency
• Support resolution of customer escalations related to pricing and capacity issues
