Logistics Transport Assistant / Up to S$4k / Jurong / Contract
Summary
The Transportation Assistant supports daily transport operations by ensuring efficient coordination of shipments, accurate documentation and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders. The role is responsible for coordinating the seamless movement of equipment between the depot and customer locations, including returns to the depot and cross-border deliveries, while ensuring compliance with company policies, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure transporters are meeting QHSE requirements and standards
• Ensure that appointed transporters have the valid transport licence and permit to work
• Liaise with Customer Service and Operations on the delivery and collection schedule
• Make bookings with transport service providers for deliveries and collections, ensuring cost efficient and optimization of transport plans
• Responsible for quality and timely communication with Customer Service and Operations Teams to ensure they are up to date with delivery / collection times and changes throughout the process.
• Provide driver details to Customer Service
• Communicate to stakeholders of any road bans
• Raise Purchase Request for transport, verify the charges against the agreed transport rates and perform Goods Receipt
• Ensure transport cost recovery and work with Customer Service if transport cost recovery target is not achieved.
• Monitor and manage the performance of the transport service providers for on-time, in full, no error and damage free, billing accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare commercial invoice and packing list (CIPL) for Singapore-Malaysia cross border shipments and maintain CIPL, import/export permit, duty payment records for audit and statutory purposes
• Keep and maintain records of transport movements and costs
• Prepare reports for management reporting
• Perform any assigned duties as required.
Requirements
• Diploma/Degree or equivalent in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in transportation, shipping, or similar roles.
• Organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Good communication and coordination abilities.
• Experience with ERP systems
• Working knowledge of transportation, customs procedures and shipping terms.
• Problem-solving and time management skills
• Customer-service and team-player mindset
