There are multiple positions available at different levels with a diverse set of expertise. This program is funded under the National Quantum Processor Initiative, a flagship program under the National Quantum Office Singapore. The aim of the program is to develop a full stack quantum processor system based on Yb-Ba ions emphasizing on the performance rather than on the qubit numbers. This program brings together the unique capabilities of the existing ion trap groups in CQT expertizing on these two-ion species to explore scalability of the system.

This program is funded under the National Quantum Processor Initiative, a flagship program under the National Quantum Office Singapore. The aim of the program is to develop a full stack quantum processor system based on Yb-Ba ions emphasizing on the performance rather than on the qubit numbers. This program brings together the unique capabilities of the existing ion trap groups in CQT expertizing on these two-ion species to explore scalability of the system.

The team members will work to build electronics to control the ion trap quantum processor. That includes digital design, RF and microwave sources and low noise analog / digital front end. The ideal candidate should have practical experience in at least one of the following fields and desire to cross the boundaries and learn relevant skills. The successful candidate will be involved in all stages of the development cycle: collaborate with other team members to define the technical requirements, design, manufacturing, testing and integration of the prototype into the control system.

Job Requirements

We are looking for several electrical engineers to join the small team of scientists and engineers working on the next generation of the ion trap quantum processor. The candidate should have:

• Bachelor or Master degree in electronics, electrical engineering or related fields;
• At least 1-2 years of experience in electronics design is preferred;
• Experience in programmable digital logic design using Verilog or VHDL, digital signal processing, and familiarity with control theory;
• Design and characterisation of low noise electronics for the analog front end, good understanding of the noise sources in electronic circuits;
• Design and implementation of the RF electronics circuits.

We are seeking to appoint a Research Associate to support research in cybersecurity, trustworthy AI, and large language model security. The successful candidate will contribute to projects related to privacy-preserving AI interactions, trustworthy knowledge acquisition, and secure information processing in security-sensitive AI systems. The role will involve assisting in the design, implementation, and evaluation of methods for reducing privacy leakage, mitigating adversarial risks, and improving the security and trustworthiness of LLM-based systems. The candidate will also support the construction of research benchmarks, experimental evaluation, and the preparation of high-quality research publications. This position will contribute to NTU’s mission of advancing secure and trustworthy intelligent systems through interdisciplinary research in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.
 

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct research on cybersecurity, trustworthy AI, and large language model security, with a focus on privacy-preserving AI interactions and secure information processing.

• Design, implement, and evaluate methods for trustworthy knowledge acquisition in LLM-based systems, including approaches to reduce privacy leakage and mitigate adversarial risks.

• Develop learning-based and evaluation-driven approaches to improve the security, reliability, and trustworthiness of AI systems in security-sensitive scenarios.

• Construct experimental platforms, benchmarks, and datasets for evaluating LLM security, privacy protection, and trustworthy AI applications.

• Conduct empirical experiments, performance analysis, and ablation studies to validate proposed methods and support reproducible research.

• Prepare and co-author high-quality research papers, technical reports, and project documentation, and collaborate with academic and industry partners on related research projects.

Requirements:

• A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline.

• Experience with LLM-based systems, trustworthy knowledge acquisition, information retrieval, query rewriting, or AI security evaluation.
