Job Summary

You will support the management and preparation of resources in the Primary School Science Lab, assist teachers in facilitating student discussions, and perform related administrative duties to ensure smooth lab operations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inventory stock-takes in Science Labs to maintain accurate records and replenish supplies promptly
• Coordinate repairs and replacements of lab equipment to ensure functional resources
• Collaborate with the Head of Department (Science) and vendors to procure lab inventory efficiently
• Organize Science Lab resources with clear name labels for easy identification and accessibility
• Assist teachers in facilitating student discussions to enhance learning activities
• Manage loan requests of lab resources from teachers to ensure timely availability
• Prepare and set up lab resources according to teachers’ schemes of work and specifications
• Perform printing and photocopying tasks in the Printing Room to support lab activities
• Prepare teaching aids, including cutting and lamination, to improve instructional materials
• Carry out ad-hoc administrative duties and resource preparation as required by the school or department

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• GCE 'N'/'O' Level Certificate
• Minimum 1 year of working experience in a Primary School Science Lab environment

Working Hours

• Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am to 4:30pm, inclusive of 30-minute lunch break
• Fridays: 7:30am to 4:00pm, inclusive of 30-minute lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays

Job Summary

Support inquiry-based science learning by managing and maintaining science laboratories and learning environments, assisting teachers with practical lesson preparation, ensuring laboratory safety, and providing administrative and logistical support in a primary school setting.

Responsibilities

• Support inquiry-based learning by preparing materials and apparatus for science practical lessons and assessments
• Manage, operate, and maintain two science laboratories and related science learning environments such as the school garden and science corners
• Source, procure, and maintain an inventory of laboratory equipment and consumables
• Ensure laboratory safety by monitoring safe use of tools and potentially serving as a certified first aider
• Assist in classes, workshops, and events by providing logistical support and supervising safe laboratory practices
• Provide administrative support as assigned by the school
• Handle live specimens, including insects and chemicals, safely and responsibly

Required competencies and certifications

• NITEC Diploma or GCE ‘O’ Level Certificate
• At least 2 years of experience as a lab technician in a primary school

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Mondays to Fridays: 7.00 am to 4.30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
