1. Quality Assurance & Compliance Monitoring

• Apply and validate organisational quality assurance frameworks against ECDA, MSF, and SPARK requirements for Early Intervention services.

1. QMS Implementation & Maintenance

• Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System in line with ISO standards and regulatory requirements.

• Ensure proper documentation and control of quality manuals, procedures, SOPs, and work instructions.

• Maintain document control processes and ensure version control.

2. Compliance & Audits

• Plan and conduct internal quality audits.

• Support external audits, certification audits, and regulatory inspections.

• Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards and regulations.

3. Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within quality processes.

• Drive initiatives such as CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions).

• Monitor KPIs related to quality performance.

4. Training & Awareness

• Provide QMS training to employees.

• Promote a quality culture within the organization.

• Ensure staff understand quality procedures and compliance requirements.

5. Risk Management

• Support risk management activities (FMEA, risk assessments).

• Ensure quality risks are identified, documented, and mitigated.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain quality records and documentation.

• Prepare quality reports, audit reports, and management review inputs.

• Track quality metrics and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Life Sciences, or related field.

• Certification in ISO 9001, ISO 13485, or Lead Auditor is preferred.

• Knowledge of quality tools (CAPA, Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, 8D).

Experience

• 3–7 years of experience in Quality Management Systems or Quality Assurance.

• Experience with internal/external audits and regulatory compliance.

• Familiarity with document control systems and QMS software.

This is a 2-year contract position as a Lead R&D Engineer in the Centre for Environmental Sustainability.

Job Description

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Lead the design and development of embedded control systems for industrial and building energy applications
• Architect control systems at component, sub‑assembly, and system level, including controller selection, I/O design, and communication architecture
• Develop and implement control software using PLC platforms and high‑level programming languages (e.g. C++, C#, Python)
• Integrate sensors, actuators, and field devices using common industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus, BACnet)
• Define system requirements, design project scope, and prepare technical proposals for industry consultancy projects
• Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and thermal domains to deliver integrated system solutions
• Conduct applied R&D to develop and translate new technologies in line with CFES’ technology roadmap
• Support commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation of deployed systems
• Deliver training to industry partners through short courses or as part of consultancy engagements

Requirements

• Strong hands‑on experience in embedded control system development, including PLC ladder logic and function block programming
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C++, C#, or Python, applied to industrial or embedded systems
• Experience with sensor and actuator integration, control panels, and system commissioning
• Familiarity with building systems, BMS, energy management systems, and HVAC applications would be an advantage
• Experience in applied R&D, consultancy, or industrial system deployment
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with staff, student interns, and industry collaborators
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and systems‑thinking skills
