• Assist with loading, unloading, and moving inventory within the warehouse
• Support order picking, packing, and labeling of goods for distribution
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse environment
• Conduct basic stock checks and inventory counts

About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Assistant to support our procurement operations within the construction industry. You’ll be responsible for assisting with purchasing materials, equipment, and services essential to our construction projects. This role requires excellent organizational skills, a solid understanding of supply chains, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

●      Assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.

●      Support tendering processes and assist in evaluating quotations.

●      Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions in accordance with company policies.

●      Follow up with suppliers to confirm delivery schedules and resolve any order discrepancies or delays.

●      Maintain accurate records of orders, deliveries, and supplier performance.

●      Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.

●      Coordinate logistics for delivery to project sites and verify receipt of goods for payment processing

●      Other ad hoc duties as assigned

Requirements:

●      Education: Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management or related fields.

●      Experience: 1–2 years in a procurement role, ideally in the construction or engineering industry.

●      Communication with offshore shared services is required

●      Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience and knowledge of SAP is a plus.

●      Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Must have Forklift licence;

Responsibilities

• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with local and overseas suppliers to recommend the most competitive options and subcontractors
• Ensure a continuous supply of required goods and materials, proactively communicating any supply risks impacting business operations
• Negotiate contracts to improve prices and business terms using procurement best practices to achieve cost savings
• Review material specifications to ensure compliance with quality standards and contract requirements
• Manage and track Purchase Requisitions and Purchase Orders in internal systems to ensure the timely delivery of procurement projects
• Maintain and update the approved supplier list, including qualifications, delivery times, and potential development opportunities
• Keep relevant stakeholders informed on delivery progress and status within expected timelines

Required competencies and certifications

• Diploma in a relevant discipline
• Minimum 2 years of procurement experience, preferably in the construction or civil engineering industry

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience with sourcing and material understanding
• Experience working on large-scale projects
• Experience with LTA projects or infrastructure projects is an added advantage
