As a Technical Manager in Shipbuilding, your role involves overseeing the technical aspects of ship design, construction, and delivery while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Here’s a general job description:
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Oversight:
• Manage the technical aspects of shipbuilding projects from design to delivery.
• Ensure projects meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

2. Design & Engineering Coordination:
• Work with naval architects, engineers, and classification societies to finalize vessel designs.
• Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and modifications.
3. Quality & Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, and classification society rules.
• Conduct inspections and audits to maintain quality control.
4. Procurement & Material Selection:
• Approve technical specifications for materials, equipment, and machinery.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for procurement.
5. Team Management & Coordination:
• Lead technical teams, including engineers, inspectors, and shipyard personnel.
• Collaborate with production managers to resolve technical challenges.
6. Risk Management & Problem-Solving:
• Address technical issues that arise during construction and propose solutions.
• Ensure proper risk assessment and mitigation strategies are in place.
7. Budget & Cost Control:
• Support cost estimation and budgeting for technical aspects of shipbuilding.
• Optimize resources to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Experience in ship design, construction, or shipyard operations managing
• Strong knowledge of classification society and regulatory requirements.
• Leadership and problem-solving skills to manage technical teams.
