ROLESUMMARY
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity across on-premises and cloud environments. The role focuses on network operations, security, and availability within mission-critical and regulated environments.
KEYRESPONSIBILITIES
· Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center networks.
· Manage network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
· Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity; perform proactive tuning and optimization.
· Implement and manage secure connectivity solutions including VPNs and remote access.
· Troubleshoot network incidents and provide L2/L3 support for connectivity and performance issues.
· Configure network security controls including firewalls, segmentation, and access policies.
· Support network high availability (HA), redundancy, and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
· Perform firmware upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management of network devices.
· Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams for system integration.
· Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
· Ensure adherence to SLAs, change management, and operational processes.
TECHNICALSKILLS & TOOLS
· Networking: TCP/IP, DNS,DHCP, VLANs, routing (BGP, OSPF), switching
· Devices: Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto (routers, switches, firewalls)
· Security: Firewalls, VPN(IPSec/SSL), IDS/IPS, network segmentation
· Cloud Networking: AWS VPC, Azure VNet, hybrid connectivity
· Monitoring: SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix, Wireshark
· Load Balancing: F5, NGINX(basic)
SECURITY& COMPLIANCE
· Implement network security controls and access policies.
· Perform vulnerability management, patching, and network hardening.
· Ensure compliance with ISO27001, NIST/CIS, and security standards.
· Support audits and incident response for network-related events.
QUALIFICATIONS& EXPERIENCE
· Degree/Diploma in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
· 4–8 years of experience in network engineering or operations.
· Experience in enterprise or regulated environments preferred.
· Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
PREFERRED(GOOD TO HAVE)
· Certifications such as CCNA,CCNP, or equivalent.
· Experience with SD-WAN and network automation.
· Exposure to Zero Trust and advanced network security architectures.
· Experience in cloud and hybrid network environments.
