Overview
Group Accountant to oversee the financial management, consolidation, and reporting across multiple entities within our construction group. This role plays a key part in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making across projects and business units.
Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidated financial statements
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with IFRS / local accounting standards
- Review financial submissions from subsidiaries and ensure consistency across entities
- Manage intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations
Project & Cost Accounting
- Oversee project-based accounting, including revenue recognition (percentage of completion)
- Monitor project costs, margins, and profitability across construction projects
- Work closely with project managers to track budgets, forecasts, and cost variations
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead group-level budgeting and rolling forecast processes
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support business planning and decision-making
- Track performance against budget and highlight key variances
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax regulations, and internal policies
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities
- Support year-end audit and statutory reporting across group entities
Cash Flow & Treasury
- Monitor group cash flow, working capital, and funding requirements
- Oversee treasury functions, including banking relationships and financing arrangements
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Supervise and mentor finance team members across entities
- Partner with senior management, project teams, and external stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within construction, engineering, or infrastructure sectors
- Strong experience in group consolidation and project accounting
- Good understanding of revenue recognition (IFRS 15 / construction contracts)
