Job Summary
The CMM Technician is responsible for developing, validating, and executing Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection programs to ensure product quality and dimensional compliance. This role supports First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process, and final inspections while working closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to maintain high manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, create, and validate CMM programs (online and offline) for complex precision components.
- Perform First Article Inspection (FAI), in-process inspections, and final dimensional inspections using CMM equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements to establish appropriate measurement strategies and inspection methods.
- Troubleshoot CMM programming issues and resolve measurement discrepancies.
- Analyze inspection results and generate detailed dimensional inspection reports.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including CMM programs, inspection reports, calibration records, and quality documentation for traceability.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection processes and measurement techniques.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality teams to address dimensional and quality-related issues.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of CMM equipment and inspection tools.
Requirements
- Diploma, Higher NITEC, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in CMM operation and inspection within a precision engineering, machining, or manufacturing environment.
- Fresh graduates with relevant training or internship experience may also be considered.
- Good knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and engineering drawing interpretation is required.
- Experience with CMM software such as PC-DMIS is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with precision measurement instruments and quality inspection processes.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision while being an effective team player.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders in a multicultural work environment.
- Willing to work at Changi North Crescent.
