Key Responsibilities

1. Application Development & Enhancement

• Develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using:
• RPG ILE / SQLRPGLE
• CLP, DDS, SDA, RLU
• Drive code optimization, refactoring, and modernization initiatives within legacy systems
• Build reusable utilities and automation scripts (e.g., file transfer, monitoring tools)

2. Testing & Environment Management

• Own end-to-end testing lifecycle:
• Unit Testing
• System Integration Testing (SIT)
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Manage environment setup including:
• Data refresh (Production → UAT/SIT)
• Batch job configuration (EOD processes)
• Interface validation and reconciliation

3. Production Support & Incident Management

• Provide L3 production support for critical banking applications
• Diagnose and resolve system defects, batch failures, and data inconsistencies
• Ensure minimal downtime and SLA adherence for business-critical systems
• Support regional banking operations (multi-country environments where applicable)

4. Release & Change Management

• Manage code migration and deployment using tools such as Aldon and Control-M
• Support Change Requests (CRs), regulatory enhancements, and large-scale transformation projects
• Ensure compliance with banking regulatory requirements (e.g., IBOR, CBPR, SDIC-type initiatives)
• Coordinate release cycles across development, QA, and production

Overview
We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to take charge of SCADA system engineering for rail and metro infrastructure projects. This role will lead technical strategy, ensure system robustness, and drive end-to-end engineering excellence—from early design stages through integration, testing, commissioning, and final system delivery. You will serve as the key technical decision-maker, ensuring alignment with industry standards while supporting smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Oversight & Direction

• Provide overall technical direction for SCADA and control system solutions within rail projects.
• Serve as the main subject matter expert for SCADA and PLC systems, ensuring designs meet safety, regulatory, and project-specific requirements.
• Review and endorse key engineering outputs, including system designs, interface definitions, schematics, and technical documentation.
• Establish and maintain engineering standards, design guidelines, and quality control practices across the project lifecycle.

Engineering Execution & Integration

• Oversee the full implementation of SCADA and PLC systems, from initial design through development, integration, and commissioning.
• Coordinate system interfaces across various railway subsystems such as signaling, power distribution, and operations control environments.
• Guide hardware and software integration activities to ensure seamless system performance.
• Lead and monitor testing phases, including factory and on-site validation activities, ensuring readiness for deployment.
• Ensure proper control of system changes, including software updates, configuration management, and hardware modifications.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the primary technical interface for clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• Facilitate technical discussions, design reviews, and resolution of complex engineering issues.
• Contribute technical insights to project planning, risk assessments, and execution strategies.
• Prepare and validate technical documentation, reports, and presentations for stakeholders and authorities.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and mentor engineering teams, providing technical guidance and oversight throughout project execution.
• Plan and allocate engineering resources effectively to meet project milestones and delivery targets.
• Encourage knowledge sharing, capability building, and continuous improvement within the team.

Risk, Issues & System Reliability

• Take the lead in resolving complex technical challenges through structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Identify potential risks early and implement mitigation measures to safeguard project timelines and system performance.
• Support post-deployment activities, including system stabilization, defect resolution, and maintenance when required.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Around 8–12 years of experience in SCADA/PLC engineering, ideally within rail, metro, or other critical infrastructure projects.
• Prior experience in a technical leadership capacity (e.g. lead engineer, technical manager) on complex system implementations.
• Strong understanding of SCADA architectures, PLC systems, and multi-system integration in high-reliability environments.
• Hands-on familiarity with PLC programming and safety-critical system requirements.
• Experience working with platforms such as Siemens and Schneider.
• Able to interpret complex engineering documentation including schematics, system designs, and specifications.
• Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to manage diverse stakeholders.
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-pressure project environments.
