Requirements & Qualifications

• Translate requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, APIs, and integration specs.
• Collaborate with engineering teams (Java, Node.js, OpenShift, integration) on solution design.
• Support event-driven architectures (APIs, messaging, topics, data flows).
• Maintain end-to-end traceability and perform impact analysis across systems.
• Participate in Agile delivery (grooming, sprint planning, UAT support).

Key Requirements

• 3–7 years’ experience as a Business Analyst / Technical BA.
• Strong experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Solid understanding of microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with OpenShift/Kubernetes concepts and distributed systems.
• Ability to interpret technical artefacts (API specs, schemas, logs).
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Solace, Kafka, or messaging platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, or observability practices.
• Background in large enterprise or regulated environments.

Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Application Support Engineer (Level 2) to support and enhance the exchange’s core business systems. This role combines production support and development work, offering exposure to mission-critical platforms. You will troubleshoot issues, implement improvements, and collaborate with business users to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 application support for mission-critical exchange systems
• Monitor daily production systems and ensure operational stability
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve application and system issues
• Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes
• Work closely with business users to analyse requirements and propose solutions
• Design, develop, and implement system enhancements where required
• Support deployment activities and release management
• Collaborate with development teams across the full software development lifecycle
• Prepare technical documentation and operational procedures
• Participate in incident management and production support activities
• Assist in performance tuning and system optimisation

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software development or application support
• Experience with at least one programming language: Java, JavaScript, or Python
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
• Experience with relational database design and SQL
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals (HTTP, TCP, UDP)
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environment
• Strong shell scripting skills preferred
• Exposure to full software development lifecycle in large-scale systems
• Open to shift work/ work on public holiday (when required) 

Preferred

• Experience in financial services / trading / exchange environment
• Experience supporting mission-critical production systems
• Familiarity with incident management and SLA-driven support
• Knowledge of system monitoring tools
