Job Summary

The Technical Sales Advisor serves as the primary technicaland commercial resource for customers and internal stakeholders. This rolecombines deep technical knowledge of HMH equipment and processes with strongcommercial acumen to improve customer experience, drive revenue growth, andsupport global and regional sales strategies. The Technical Sales Advisor worksclosely with customers, regional sales teams, P&T, engineering, and productorganizations to deliver tailored technical solutions and actionable insights.

Job Responsibilities

Technical & Customer Engagement

• Maintain a deep understanding of HMH equipment, systems, and operational processes.
• Serve as the primary technical interface for customers and internal teams.
• Improve overall customer experience through proactive technical support and solution development.
• Engage regularly with customers to identify needs, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
• Identify areas of improvement for customers and propose value‑adding technical solutions.
• Generate insightful quarterly customer reports based on field data, performance, and customer feedback.
• Provide guidance regarding the voracity of warranty claims and provide guidance during the consideration of sales concessions

Data & Market Intelligence

• Collect, validate and organize data from daily field reports.
• Interpret technical and operational data and translate it into valuable insights for internal and external stakeholders.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitor offerings, and product innovations.
• Transfer Voice of Customer (VOC) insights internally to ensure focus on the most impactful initiatives.

Sales Strategy & Business Development

• Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue and growth objectives.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in both existing and new markets.
• Support white‑space mapping to identify new solution opportunities and areas for expansion.
• Assist in the bid‑generation process, acting as a technical presence in operations and commercial meetings.
• Support major commercial pursuits with technical expertise, competitive insights, and solution positioning.

Collaboration & Cross‑Functional Support

• Collaborate closely with P&T, engineering, and product teams to tailor technical solutions to customer requirements.
• Support all regions with technical and specialist sales expertise, aligning with CTO and product organizations.
• Work in partnership with regional sales teams to enable execution while presenting a unified global approach.
• Ensure consistent communication and alignment across regions to avoid fragmented customer engagement.

Global Accounts & Team Enablement

• Coordinate support for major multinational and global accounts, ensuring a “one‑face‑to‑customer” approach across regions.
• Contribute to unified global account strategies covering pricing, upgrades, and solution positioning.
• Act as a technical expert for specific equipment, product lines, or vertical markets as assigned.
• Enable and support regional technical sales resources as needed.

Leadership & Performance Management

• Mentor and manage members of the technical sales organization as applicable.
• Monitor individual and team performance against objectives and recommend improvements where needed.
• Support training initiatives to strengthen technical and commercial capabilities across the sales organization.
• Promote a collaborative team culture focused on shared success and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical, or Business discipline from an accredited institution.
• Proven experience in technical sales, commercial, engineering, service account management, field service engineering and/or operations roles within relevant industries.
• Strong understanding of technical equipment, systems, and customer operational environments.
• Demonstrated ability to translate technical information into commercial value propositions.
• Willingness to travel (upto 50%) as required to support customers and regional teams.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Advisor - Treasury System & Risk to join our dynamic Treasury & Risk team within Commercial Treasury based in Singapore.

Reporting to the Commercial Treasury System & Risk Manager, this role supports core Treasury operations and decision making, with responsibilities including:

• Be the go-to expert for Rio’s current Treasury Management System (“TMS”), Quantum and related applications.
• Continuously improve Rio’s current TMS and associated applications.
• Act as a strategic connector and change management champion between Treasury, IT, and Treasury's internal clients/business users.
• Innovate, automate, and simplify treasury processes and treasury reporting using technologies like AI, data analytics, workflow automation, and low-code tools.
• Work closely with IT teams and external vendors to diagnose and resolve system issues for internal clients/business users.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, SOX and IT control audits, including walkthroughs, testing controls, and communicating gaps with a solutions-focused approach.
• Take ownership as the Risk Coordinator for Commercial Treasury, ensuring timely risk reporting and supporting key Risk Management forums such as Financial Risk Management Committee which is chaired by Group CFO.

About you

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have: 

• University degree in Finance, Information Systems or related discipline.
• At least 5 years' work experience in corporate treasury front office and/or treasury systems. Experience with Quantum or similar TMS highly regarded.
• Strong grasp of treasury products, processes, and system configuration, with a strong drive to embrace latest technology to automate processes.
• Hands-on exposure to automation, AI, data analytics, or coding/scripting (e.g. SQL, Python, VBA,APIs, RPA, low-code platforms) will set you apart.
• Familiarity with SOx, risk management, and process controls highly regarded.
• A problem solver who's adaptable, open-minded and comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity. Takes ownership and accountability, able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
