Roles and Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT processes using Teradata SQL, Informatica PowerCenter, Apache Spark, QueryGrid, and Trino.

- Build and optimize data pipelines to load and transform data into Teradata-based data warehouses and data marts.

- Develop and implement scalable data engineering frameworks to support end-to-end automation using GCFR, BTEQ, and shell scripting.

- Perform performance tuning and optimization of complex ETL jobs and data processing workflows to reduce resource consumption and improve efficiency.

- Build and maintain in-house CDC (Change Data Capture) frameworks using Java to process OLR logs from SAP (Oracle) systems and ingest data into Teradata.

- Design configurable and reusable CDC ingestion frameworks to support enterprise-wide data integration requirements.

- Develop and support Master Data Management (MDM) solutions for user data uploads, including data validation, enrichment, and approval workflows.

- Work with Hadoop ecosystem technologies including Hive, Impala, Spark, Kafka, Iceberg, NiFi, Ranger, Atlas, and Flink for data ingestion, processing, and governance.

- Implement data pipeline orchestration and scheduling mechanisms to ensure reliable and timely data delivery.

- Collaborate with business, analytics, and application teams to translate requirements into scalable data engineering solutions.

- Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across enterprise data platforms.

- Support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and production issue resolution for data pipelines and ETL processes.

- Continuously improve data engineering standards, frameworks, and automation capabilities.

Role Overview

As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise data platforms and ETL pipelines that enable analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision making. You will play a key technical role in delivering end-to-end data pipelines, analytics platforms, and integration solutions across hybrid and cloud environments, including Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) and MINDEF Commercial Cloud (MCC).

You will work closely with data and solution architects, business stakeholders, and infrastructure teams to translate requirements into robust, production-grade data solutions.

Job Responsibilities

1.     Data Engineering &Platform Design

·      Design and develop scalable and reliable data pipelines.

·      Build enterprise data platforms, including data warehouses, data lakes, and lake houses.

·      Implement cloud, hybrid, and on-premises data architectures aligned with enterprise standards.

2.     Data Integration &ETL/ELT

·      Lead ETL/ELT pipeline development with Talend as a core and highly preferred platform. Experience with other ETL/ELT tools will be considered.

·      Integrate structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources.

·      Implement and maintain data quality, validation, and error-handling frameworks.

3.     Storage & Data Management

·      Design and manage data storage solutions with a strong emphasis on object storage, data quality, and data governance.

·      Implement and maintain data lifecycle management and cost-optimization strategies.

·      Ensure data lineage, traceability, and auditability.

4.     Analytics Enablement& BI Integration

·      Engineer analytics-ready data models for reporting and self-service analytics.

·      Enable BI Dashboards, Reports, and analytics through performant and governed data pipelines.

5.     Security, Governance& Compliance

·      Ensure compliance with government security and privacy requirements.

·      Implement and maintain encryption, access controls, and secure data handling practices.

·      Implement and maintain security policies and procedures for the system

Job Requirements

Education - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

Core Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on data engineering experience
• Expertise in ETL/ELT with Talend (highly preferred)
• Experience with data warehouses, data lakehouses, data lakes, and object storage systems
• Qlik Sense Enterprise integration experience (highly preferred)
• Strong SQL and Python skills

Experience & Security Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in enterprise data engineering roles
• Prior CAT 1 / G50 security clearance(mandatory)
• Previous experience delivering MINDEF projects (mandatory)
