Role Overview

The Senior Grid System Design Engineer is the technical "Gatekeeper" for our BESS pipeline. This role carries dual responsibility: performing the advanced mathematical simulations required for TNB approval and acting as the primary technical auditor for BESS and PPC hardware suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• BESS Dynamic Modeling: Develop site-specific BESS models including Inverters (PCS), Battery
• Management Systems (BMS), and Power Plant Controllers (PPC). You must accurately model GridForming (GFM) logic, Virtual Inertia, and sub-50ms Fast Frequency Response (FFR).

System Design Engineer – Senior (Ref.No. R1011801)

at our location in Singapore

You will enjoy having these responsibilities:

• Technical lead on a selected CBTC project, ensuring the internal stakeholders are delivering as per customer’s expectations
• Manage technical project deliverables while ensuring on-time delivery
• First Point of contact for all technical matters internally and externally.
• Support the development and reviewing of system and subsystem design artifacts to meet Customer requirements (operational and safety requirements in particular)
• Analyze and evaluate designs to verify compliance with System technical requirements
• Participate in system performance monitoring and root cause analysis of issues faced in passenger metro operation or during testing using cloud-based data analysis tools
• Present trade-off analysis, designs and investigations to engineering/management groups in clear, complete, concise and non-ambiguous terms
• Contribute to productive technical discussions with Customers, Interface Contractors, and other internal departments
• Support bids and projects in Singapore and in the region including but not limited to Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia
• Work in our CBTC simulation facility to gain hand-on experience with the signalling system hardware and software, while supporting in-house testing and issue investigations
• Support our Advance Development Projects including Next Gen Green CBTC and Data Analytics

You have:

• Required:BASc in Electrical, Computer, Mechatronics, System Design Engineering or equivalentCurious and willing to learn technical skills fast and on the flyGood analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills to interface with customers and HRS personnel around the globeWillingness to collaborate with teams overseas, which requires occasional evening callsExperience and knowledge in deploying CBTC technology
• Good To Have:Experience with scripting languages like Python, Perl, or RubyPrevious exposure to some of the technologies we use
