We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our growing teams in Singapore. The role is a unique opportunity to build beautifully simple experiences that guide our customers through Wise, helping them to live, travel and work without borders.

How you’ll be contributing to our Engineering team:

• Help us take Wise to the next level as we scale to impact 100's of millions more customers. You'll hide away all complexities under the hood of our product and build seamless experiences for our customers

• Contribute to core application functionalities, ensuring a robust and positive user experience, especially during unexpected scenarios or issues. 

• Create clear and helpful interfaces, whilst maintaining consistency, maintainability, performance and an understanding of what problems our customers might encounter along the way

• Take initiative to identify and solve important problems. Coordinates with others on cross-cutting technical issues

• Drive product improvement that impacts the Wise customer experience or empowers internal stakeholders to do their job effectively. 

• Proactively identify and tackle technical debt becoming too big through planning work and aligning the team. Does this with careful evaluation of additional cost on development

Qualifications

A bit about you

• Professional fluency in written and spoken Japanese (JLPT N2 or equivalent) is required to manage technical documentation and effectively liaise with Japanese-speaking business counterparts and stakeholders.

• You have solid Java knowledge and experience with Spring framework

• You have experience working with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisation and schema design

• You approach challenges with a strong product mindset, prioritise customer needs and make data-driven decisions to fix customer pain-points

• You have led the design and development of complex engineering solutions and understand their broader impact on business outcomes.

• You have excellent communication skills and can articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audience

• You provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers

• You are familiar with Continuous Integration and deployment frameworks

Some extra skills and experiences that would be great:

• You have experience with financial systems including how payments and digital onboarding flows work

We're looking for a Software Engineer (Japanese Speaking) to join our growing team in Singapore. The role is a unique opportunity to build beautifully simple experiences that guide our customers through Wise, helping them to live, travel and work without borders.

How you’ll be contributing to our Engineering team: 

• Help us take Wise to the next level as we scale to impact 100's of millions more customers. You'll hide away all complexities under the hood of our product and build seamless experiences for our customers.

• Facilitate customer money movement by implementing direct integrations with central bank payment schemes across APAC.

• Develop innovative and scalable systems to enable complex product integrations with banking schemes and partners.

• Collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders, including banking, compliance, sanctions, and operations, to swiftly launch best-in-class products.

• Design and build systems that operate and scale to meet strict SLAs.

• Drive product improvement that impacts the Wise customer experience or empowers internal stakeholders (teams like Operations, Customer Support, Finance, etc.) to do their job effectively.

• Proactively identify and tackle technical debt becoming too big through planning work and aligning the team. Does this with careful evaluation of additional cost on development.

Qualifications

Your Mission

We have a highly mobile, geographically diverse work environment. Currently we look after 20 offices of varying sizes where VPN and wireless connectivity plays an important role. We’re looking for an exceptional Network Engineer for our Network Engineering team to deliver scalable, stable, and well documented solutions as part of the UT team and in collaboration with other Platform Engineering teams.

Here’s how you’ll be contributing:

• Build and improve Wise office and VPN infrastructure

• Share knowledge with the team and mentor juniors to help them grow

• Communicate with various stakeholders throughout Wise, plan roadmaps with your team, and work through challenges to determine scope and realistic delivery
