We are representing our client in the global technology and engineering space to look for an experienced Technology Strategist. Reporting directly to the CTO, the group to play a strategic and cross-functional role in shaping the future of cloud capabilities within the business unit. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and driving the adoption of cutting-edge technologies that align with the group’s vision of becoming a cloud and AI powerhouse.
Responsibilities
Research and Development
- Continuously scan the market for bleeding-edge cloud technologies.
- Engage and stay updated with key technology partners (e.g., AWS, Google, Oracle, Microsoft, Elastic, RedHat) on developments in their technology stack.
- Collaborate with professional services, presales, and managed services teams to assess the applicability of new technologies across the group
- Shortlist and recommend technologies to develop into Proof of Concepts (POCs).
- Lead POC and R&D projects to completion, evaluating their adoption within business units.
- Drive the adoption of viable technologies across the group and its customer base.
Change Management and Capabilities Development
- Be the change agent driving the digital transformation of group into an AI and cloud powerhouse.
- Develop, track and plan the overall capabilities development of the group aligning with long-term strategic goals.
- Document staff capabilities, including tracking certifications and competencies across various cloud technologies to ensure alignment with organizational goals and partner requirements.
- Leverage partner programs for training, certifications, and rebates to enhance team competencies.
- Plan and manage resource allocation, including considerations for outsourcing and partner collaboration.
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting
- Prepare strategic presentations and reports for senior management, highlighting progress, partnerships, financial plans, and technology direction.
- Track and report on cost savings, training progress, and certification achievements.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in cloud technology (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle, GCC).
- Experience working in the corporate arm of an organization, with the ability to work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proactive and analytical mindset.
- Experience in evaluating and implementing emerging technologies, managing vendor relationships, and driving change management initiatives.
- Familiarity with AI, data platforms, digital transformation, enterprise architecture, cloud governance, and innovation management.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) are advantageous.
