Credit Risk Regulatory Reporting & Automation -Senior Consultant/ Associate Manager

Responsibilities:
Reporting Automation & Optimization

• Drive automation of regulatory reporting processes (e.g., Credit Risk reporting) using Alteryx and related technologies.
• Replace manual, Excel-based workflows (including macros and Access-based EUCs) with scalable, system-driven solutions.
• Assess and document existing EUCs, evaluating their usage, criticality, and associated risks.
• Redesign reporting workflows to align with BCBS239 principles, ensuring efficiency and compliance.

Business Engagement & Leadership

• Collaborate with Credit Risk Department users to understand current reporting practices and pain points.
• Act as a liaison between business and IT teams, ensuring seamless communication and solution delivery.
• Lead workshops and guide users in adopting automated solutions, fostering a culture of innovation.
• Promote standardization and best practices across reporting processes to ensure sustainability.

Program Alignment & Stakeholder Integration

• Define milestones, governance structures, and roles & responsibilities to ensure project clarity.
• Integrate project management methodology with the bank’s operational approach for practical execution.
• Maintain close alignment with the BCBS239 program team, ensuring consistency with ongoing workstreams and governance frameworks.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to adhere to project standards, methodologies, and reporting structures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in any related fields.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in related fields such as Banking, with multiple hands-on experiences with Alteryx (workflow design, data transformation, automation)
• Proven ability to work in complex, multi-stakeholder environments involving business, IT, compliance, and vendors.
• Strong documentation skills using PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Solid project management skills, including progress tracking, issue and risk management, and stakeholder coordination, experience preparing and delivering reports or presentations to senior management or executives and good stakeholder management and communication skills are a plus.
• Proficiency in business-level English across reading, writing, listening, and speaking will be beneficial for liaising with key stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of regulatory reporting, internal reporting, finance/accounting business processes, and related systems.
• Familiarity with BI Tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau), understanding of Regulatory Reporting/Internal Reporting, Finance/Account business process, related systems are a plus.
• Working experience with Risk Management / Finance / Accounting departments (especially reporting-related processes) is highly beneficial.
• Experience in BPR initiatives (process simplification, standardization, and integration), as well as prior exposure to financial institutions in Asia (e.g. Japan) will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Data and Process Automation

• Drive and implement process enhancement initiatives to improve operational efficiency, reporting accuracy, controls and governance, including:

1. Finance system implementations, upgrades and integrations.
2. Automation of financial close processes, and optimization of data workflows to minimize manual efforts and maximize productivity.
3. Strengthen internal controls and compliance while improving transparency and accuracy.

• Collaborate with APAC and global Finance teams on strategic projects and ad hoc tasks to strengthen data governance, ensure seamless integration with other systems, and align processes with best practices and organizational objectives.
• Conduct training and provide guidance to Finance teams, enabling them to effectively use programming and data management tools to drive automation and innovation in financial processes. 

Financial Closing

• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation and posting of journal entries to ensure accurate and timely financial results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Underwriting, Claims, Actuarial, IT and Reinsurance, to ensure accurate, consistent and complete data for financial reporting and group intercompany reconciliations.

Financial Reporting

• Prepare and review the regulatory and statutory reporting in compliance with MAS requirements and IFRS 17 standards.
• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial reporting packages and group reporting submissions, in accordance with group reporting requirements and timelines.
• Assist with external and internal audits, including preparing detailed schedules, supporting documentation and timely responses to audit queries.

Requirements Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Actuarial Science, Data Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience in regulatory and financial reporting, process improvement and data analytics.
• Professional qualifications such as CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA, actuarial certifications, or data analytics credentials are highly desirable.
• Prior experience in insurance financial reporting or working with renowned audit firms is an advantage.

Skills

• Ability to improve performance and efficiency through the implementation of effective business intelligence techniques and strategies.
• Experience in automation and/or scripting and coding languages (e.g. VBA, R, Python).
• Able to work with multiple data sources using tools like Excel, SAS, SQL, Power BI, is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of ERP accounting systems e.g., SAP, SUN, or other equivalent systems.
