• Performs specific and moderate portions of broader engineering assignments under limited supervision.
• Gathers, analyzes, and correlates basic engineering data using established procedures. 
• Works on detailed and routine ELV/ICT engineering tasks involving calculations and simple tests.

• Independently performs primary design elements for assigned ELV and ICT works.

• Supports testing, commissioning, and handover of ELV/ICT systems. Ensures compliance with applicable standards (TIA, BICSI, IEEE, and local codes).
• Monitors contractor work quality, progress, safety, and material compliance on-site. 
• Maintains technical documentation, reports, and as-built drawings. 
• Supports systems including structured cabling, fiber optics, CCTV, access control, and PA systems. 
• Participates in client meetings and technical workshops. 
• Performs work in accordance with agreed budgets, schedules, and project timelines. 
• Provides technical guidance and coordination support to junior engineers and BIM teams.

Responsibilities of Mechanical Design Engineer:

• Convert product and system requirements into practical mechanical designs while ensuring performance, safety, and manufacturability.
• Develop and test prototypes, analyze results, and refine designs to improve product reliability and functionality throughout the development cycle.
• Design machinery and equipment layouts to optimize space utilization, accessibility, operational safety, and maintenance efficiency.
• Conduct research on user needs, product specifications, and market trends to support new product development.

Requirements:

Job description

The Mechanical & Electrical Design Manager will lead and oversee the mechanical design team for all cleanroom, process utility, and HVAC system project. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality design deliverables, meeting project schedules and budgets, mentoring team members and maintaining design standards.

Key Responsibility.

1. Manage a team of mechanical & elecrical engineers and designers working on cleanroom HVAC, process piping and associated utility system designs.
2. Participate in meetings to understand project scope, requirements and constrains.
3. Develop staffing plans and allocate resources across multiple concurrent projects.
4. Provide technical direction, oversight and through reviews of mechanical designs and calculations.
5. Ensure designs conform to applicable codes, standards and customer specifications.
6. Collaborate with other managers to integrate design efforts.
7. Implement quality control processes for mechanical design deliverables (drawings, models, calculations).
8. Mentor junior design staff through training, coaching and design reviews.
9. Establish and maintain departmental design standards, best practices and templates.
10. Support business development by participating in proposals and specs for prospective projects.
11. Interface with clients, vendors and construction teams as needed during execution.
12. Manage project design schedules and ensure on-time completion of deliverables.
13. Control design costs and meet project budget targets for mechanical scope.

Qualifications.

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering.
• Seven (7) plus years of Mechanical & Electrical Design experiences with at least 3 years managing a design team.
• Expertise in HVAC system design for controlled environments (labs, cleanrooms)
• Strong knowledge of process utility design (process dry system & process wet systems etc).
• Knowledge in 3D modeling using AutoCAD/Revit.
• Understanding of relevant codes, standards and regulations (ASHRAE, ISO,SS)
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Cooperation.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills- English, and/or Mandarin to effectively communicate with and/or Mandarin-speaking clients.
