Research Assistant (1-Year Contract)

Job Overview

A government agency in the social service sector is seeking a Research Assistant on a 1-year contract to support research, evaluation and data analytics initiatives. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting research studies, managing survey projects and generating insights to support policy development, programme planning and service improvement.

This role is suitable for individuals with strong analytical capabilities, an interest in social research and experience working with quantitative datasets. The candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, research vendors and external partners to support evidence-based decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Survey Management

• Conduct literature reviews and synthesize research findings to support study design and project objectives.
• Assist in the development of research methodologies, survey instruments and data collection frameworks.
• Coordinate survey fieldwork activities and liaise with vendors to ensure timely project delivery.
• Support research studies and programme evaluations within the social service sector.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Clean, process and manage survey and administrative datasets.
• Conduct statistical analyses using tools such as SPSS, STATA, R or Python.
• Prepare data outputs including tables, charts and dashboards to support reporting requirements.
• Draft analytical summaries, research reports and presentation materials for stakeholders.

Project Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Track project timelines, milestones and deliverables to ensure successful project completion.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external research partners and service providers.
• Support procurement, project documentation and administrative requirements where necessary.
• Assist in presenting findings and recommendations to project teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Good Degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, Public Policy, Psychology, Sociology, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
• Familiarity with literature review, research synthesis and survey design methodologies.
• Proficient in data analysis software such as SPSS, STATA, R and/or Python.
• Strong analytical, project management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines effectively.
• Meticulous with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Experience working with longitudinal datasets or large-scale survey projects will be an advantage.
• Prior experience in research, policy, programme evaluation or the social service sector is preferred.

·        Simple Pre-Show Marketing: Producing 3-4 social media posts per week to announce exhibitors and drive audience engagement. Support enquiries from visitors or delegates.  

1. Digital and Registration Team Support:

·         Data Management: Uploading the exhibitor badges list from the system backend.

·         Visitor Group Registration: Uploading of group registration from the backend

o    For G2E, manage 40-50 group registration lists from casinos. This person must ensure accuracy by checking and filling in missing data where possible.

o    For IBEW, handle over 30 group ticketing sales by uploading data, sending invoices, and following up on payments.

o    Support enquiries from these visitors

·         Create SOP document: Support me and Digital Team to draw up SOPs.

Job Summary

Support the Science department and front-desk operations at a primary school in Boon Lay by preparing teaching resources, assisting with science experiments, providing administrative support, and managing customer service duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare teaching and learning resources to support classroom activities
• Assemble and organise science experiment materials and maintain a clean, orderly science laboratory
• Assist students in conducting science experiments under teacher supervision to ensure safety and learning
• Provide administrative support by preparing student achievement certificates and collating student survey responses
• Manage the loan and return process of teaching resources and prepare documentation for resource condemnation when needed

Required competencies and certifications

• Minimum GCE N-Level Certificate with passes in English and Mathematics
• At least 2 years of experience supporting teaching activities

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Prior experience working in a local school environment
• Proficiency in MS Office applications
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with students, teachers, and parents
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

An Admin cum HR Assistant manages daily human resource functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and record-keeping. This position handles employee inquiries, maintains personnel files, and performs general administrative duties like ordering supplies, filing, and requiring strong organizational and MS Office skills. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities

• Support HR tasks including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, and employee records
• Handle basic office admin duties (calls, filing, supplies, courier)
