Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor to oversee onsite construction and project execution activities within a marine and shipyard environment. This role is responsible for coordinating daily operations, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and driving project progress according to schedule requirements.
The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on experience in construction supervision, subcontractor coordination, and project execution within heavy engineering, offshore, or shipbuilding environments.
Key Responsibilities
Site Coordination & Project Execution
- Coordinate and supervise daily onsite construction activities to ensure project milestones and operational targets are achieved.
- Monitor work progress and ensure construction activities are executed according to approved schedules and project plans.
- Develop and manage production planning to ensure work activities follow the correct sequence while minimizing delays and rework.
- Ensure effective coordination between internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and external stakeholders throughout project execution.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all construction activities comply with project specifications, classification requirements, mandatory regulations, and industry best practices.
- Enforce workplace safety standards and monitor adherence to quality assurance procedures across all onsite activities.
- Identify, investigate, and address quality or safety issues arising during project execution.
- Implement corrective actions and improvement measures to prevent recurrence of operational or compliance issues.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Liaise closely with Owner Representatives, Classification Surveyors, subcontractors, and suppliers to resolve technical and operational issues.
- Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance to ensure deliverables are completed according to contractual and operational expectations.
- Coordinate site inspections, progress reviews, and technical discussions with relevant stakeholders.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare project progress updates, operational reports, and lesson learned documentation.
- Support management in identifying operational improvements and process optimization opportunities.
- Maintain accurate project and construction records in accordance with company standards.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Marine Engineering, Shipbuilding, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in construction supervision, project execution, or shipyard operations
- Experience working within marine, offshore, oil & gas, heavy engineering, or shipbuilding environments will be advantageous
- Familiarity with Classification Society requirements and construction safety standards
- Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced onsite operational environment
- Proficient in project coordination, reporting, and subcontractor management
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of shipyard construction workflows and production planning
- Experience managing subcontractors and multi-disciplinary project teams
- Understanding of quality management and workplace safety practices
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
