Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate, Estate Planning to join our Wills & Custody team. You will draft Wills, manage related administrative tasks, and liaise with estate planners and clients to ensure accurate and professional estate planning services.
Responsibilities
- Draft Wills accurately based on client instructions to meet legal and client requirements
- Review and verify submitted documents for accuracy and completeness to ensure compliance
- Liaise effectively with estate planners and clients to discuss Will drafts and revisions
- Conduct virtual and in-person meetings with estate planners and clients to clarify instructions and provide updates
- Interpret client instructions and accurately transpose them into draft legal documents
- Prepare final Wills and supporting documents for execution
- Assist in the attestation process, including acting as a witness during signing
- Communicate the contents of Wills clearly to clients in a language they understand
- Prepare and issue invoices for services rendered
- Manage printing, scanning, and organization of legal documents efficiently
- Process and verify proof of payment to maintain accurate financial records
- Perform ad-hoc administrative duties as required to support the team
- Collaborate closely with internal team members and cross-functional departments to ensure smooth workflow
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Prior experience as a paralegal or in a legal department or law firm
- Proficiency in additional languages to assist with translation during client communication
- Experience working in a legal or paralegal setting
