Role Summary 

The R2R Senior Analyst – Lease is accountable for technical judgement and policy guidance across lease accounting under IFRS 16 / ASC 842, acting as a quality checkpoint between lease preparation and tower-level close governance. 

This role ensures that: 

• Lease master data, ROU asset & lease liability accounting, remeasurements/modifications, and tool-to-GL reconciliations are  

• Complete  

• Accurate  

• Independently supported  

• SOX / IPE compliant  

The role owns resolution of non-standard and complex lease cases, ensures consistent interpretation of SOP 10.3.x, and drives disciplined ageing closure, evidence sufficiency, and exception resolution. 

Role Purpose 

To ensure accurate, compliant, and defensible lease accounting outcomes by: 

• Acting as the technical SME for lease accounting and policy interpretation  

• Resolving complex lease scenarios and judgement-heavy cases  

• Driving cross-tower alignment and audit readiness  

• Strengthening controls, governance, and consistency across entities  

Key Responsibilities 

1. Technical Accounting & Policy Interpretation 

• Own interpretation and application of IFRS 16 / ASC 842 standards  

• Provide guidance on:  

• Lease classification and recognition  

• ROU asset and lease liability accounting  

• Discount rates and assumptions  

• Ensure consistent application of lease accounting policies across entities  

2. Complex Case Resolution & Judgement 

• Resolve non-standard and complex lease accounting scenarios, including:  

• Lease modifications and remeasurements  

• Contract interpretation issues  

• System or accounting discrepancies  

• Provide defensible accounting conclusions with documented rationale and evidence  

3. Certification & Control Gatekeeping 

• Certify lease accounting outputs, including:

The Senior Auditor is responsible for overseeing all Internal Control System (ICS) activities and ensuring timely closure of Control Self-Assessments for MGSC India. This role ensures that all ICF (Internal Control Functions) activities are to be completed within agreed timelines with accuracy, while proactively identifying and highlighting any observations or deviations in controls.

Additionally, the Senior Auditor is accountable for analyzing data and presenting insightful reports to key stakeholders. This position plays a critical role in evaluating and strengthening the organization’s internal control framework by identifying risks and recommending control measures and strengthening the process.

The Senior Auditor collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust governance and effective risk management practices are consistently implemented.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and strengthen the internal control framework in collaboration with Group Governance to ensure organizational compliance and effective governance.
• Ensure timely follow-up with business teams for completion and proper documentation of ICF controls as per the defined design.
• Manage and execute end-to-end ICF activities.
• Assess new areas & processes within GSC and onboard them into the ICF/ICS framework, ensuring appropriate control coverage and governance alignment.
• Collate and validate data received from across the functions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Perform monthly ICF audits in line with established standards.

NielsenIQ’s Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) is a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly-selective team. CAS serves not only as an independent internal audit function, but also as a leadership development program.  CAS provides objective assurance over NIQ's reported financials and has reporting accountability to NIQ's management team, Audit Committee, and External Audit partner.  As NIQ is a global enterprise, CAS has audit responsibilities over 70+ countries. The team is geographically dispersed, but is tight-knit and mobile. In addition to audit work, CAS engages in projects that support process improvement and critical strategic initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls by performing audits. This includes planning, scoping, hands on field work, and drafting audit reports
• Identify control deficiencies, inconsistencies, and/or incidents of fraud or misconduct
• Present findings/recommendations to senior leaders. Partner with the business to develop remediation plans and support best practice sharing
• Provide independent assurance on business compliance with policy, governance, and internal controls
• Contribute to the development of audit process improvements, including the development of automated routines
