What you do here will impact the world. The Airwallex Cloud Infra team is a group of highly skilled, innovative, and collaborative professionals dedicated to creating and maintaining a cutting-edge, secure, and scalable infrastructure that supports our cross-border payment solutions. 

The team brings together experts in Kubernetes, service mesh, cloud platforms, and core services, all working seamlessly to ensure the highest levels of performance, reliability, and security.  The Cloud Infrastructure team is pivotal to Airwallex's mission to empower businesses worldwide by providing a robust and efficient financial technology platform.

This role is based in Singapore.

Responsibilities:

• Develop Cloud Infrastructure Services: Build scalable and resilient cloud-native infrastructure services and platforms using Kubernetes, Istio, Crossplane, ArgoCD/Rollout/Workflow, and other modern technologies, emphasizing full automation and GitOps best practices.

• Enhance Infrastructure Platform Reliability and Security: Proactively monitor system health and performance, and implement solutions to address infrastructure issues and security vulnerabilities before they impact customers.

• Collaborate on Infrastructure Architecture: Partner with senior engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to continuously evolve the infrastructure and technology stack, improving reliability, scalability, and developer experience.

• Contribute to Incident Response & Operations: Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability across environments.

• Integrate Emerging Technologies: Stay ahead of industry trends in AI, Kubernetes, Service Mesh (Istio), Crossplane, GitOps, and cloud platforms. Evaluate and help integrate innovative tools and practices to strengthen the infrastructure ecosystem.

Who you are

We're looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Qualifications:

• Distributed Systems Knowledge: Hands-on experience working with distributed systems and understanding the challenges of building scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure.

• Kubernetes & Containerization: Familiar with core Kubernetes concepts, with hands-on experience in developing custom controllers/operators.

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Understand core principles of IaC and have working knowledge of tools such as Crossplane, Pulumi, Terraform, or similar.

• Programming Proficiency: Can write clean, maintainable code in at least one language such as Go, Python, or similar.

• Problem-Solving Mindset: Take initiative in identifying infrastructure bottlenecks and proposing actionable solutions, with a proactive and analytical approach.

• Team Collaboration & Communication: Thrive in cross-functional environments, and communicate effectively to align technical decisions with team goals.

• Educational Background: Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Custom Kubernetes Operator Development: Hands-on experience building and maintaining custom Kubernetes controllers or operators to automate infrastructure workflows.

• Service Mesh Expertise: Familiarity with Istio or other service mesh technologies for traffic management, observability, and security in microservices architectures.

• GitOps Practices & Tooling: Working knowledge of GitOps principles and tools like ArgoCD or Flux for declarative infrastructure and application delivery.

• Cloud & Kubernetes Certifications: Possess certifications in Kubernetes (CKA, CKAD) or major cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.

• Contributions to CNCF Open Source Projects: Active participation in CNCF-affiliated open-source communities.

Responsibilities

• Handle full set of accounts including AR, AP, and GL
• Prepare journal entries, process invoices and payments, and track receipts
• Perform month-, quarter-, and year-end closing and bank reconciliations
• Follow up on outstanding balances with customers and internal teams
• Maintain fixed assets and asset registers
• Assist with cash flow monitoring and reporting
• Upload payment files via the bank’s e-banking system
• Prepare audit schedules and liaise with external auditors
• Compile MPA Local Business Spending reports
• Maintain proper accounting documentation and records
• Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate accounting
• Provide backup support and handle ad-hoc administrative / IT duties when required

Requirements

• Diploma or higher qualification in Accounting or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in the maritime industry (Ship Owner / Operator preferred)
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, and familiar with accounting systems
• Good communication skills and a detail-oriented, independent team player

1. Perform documentation work for secured and non-mortgage loans

2. Perform documentation checks within specified standards of credit quality and turnaround time and highlight deviations

3. Perform pre-disbursement compliance checks and highlight discrepancies and deviations

4. Complete Documentation Checklist for Disbursement/Activation and ensure standards & regulatory guidelines are complied with

5. Monitor compliance of special conditions on credit facilities offered and highlight deviations

6. Prepare letters varying terms and condition of credit facilities

7. Follow up on outstanding title deeds for safekeeping with law firms

8. Filing of source reports & media and arrange archival
