The Project Engineer plays a key role in managing and executing complex electrical projects—ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, safety, and quality standards. Job Responsibilities

Project Planning

• Contribute to project engineering activities including electrical design, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Assist in the preliminary design and budgeting for Design and Build tenders, ensuring accurate estimations and alignment with client requirements.

Stakeholder Management

• Facilitate regular project review meetings, ensuring that all team members and stakeholders are kept informed of progress, challenges, and upcoming milestones.
• Liaise with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to coordinate daily and weekly activities, ensuring clear communication of expectations and timelines.
• Address on-site queries from clients or consultants professionally, escalating to the Project Manager as needed.
• Support relationship-building efforts with all stakeholders to maintain trust and foster collaborative problem-solving.
• Facilitate on-site walkthroughs or updates for client, consultants, or management, preparing necessary visual and technical summaries.

Documentation Management

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records, including daily reports, progress logs, inspection checklists, technical drawings, and other required documentation.
• Ensure proper tagging and archiving of documents to facilitate traceability and compliance with quality standards.
• Contribute to standardising documentation practices to support organisational knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Support the preparation of periodic reports and project updates for internal and external stakeholders.

Change Management

• Support the implementation of new processes, digital tools, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Act as an on-site change advocate, helping colleagues adapt to new workflows and ensuring consistent use of new systems and methods.
• Provide feedback on change initiatives to identify on-the-ground challenges and contribute to refining implementation strategies.
• Assist in monitoring adoption rates and flagging recurring issues or resistance to enable targeted coaching or support.

Risk Management

• Identify, document, and report potential on-site risks, including safety, schedule, quality, or resource issues, to enable early intervention.
• Support the Project Manager in maintaining the risk register and ensuring mitigation actions are implemented promptly.
• Promote a proactive risk-aware culture among subcontractors and site teams by highlighting potential hazards and encouraging preventive measures.

Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering works.
• Educational Qualifications: Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Technical Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, cabling works, and ELV/low-voltage systems.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced MEP Construction Director to lead site delivery on major projects in Singapore, providing technical oversight, contractor governance, and client-facing leadership. This is a critical role within our Building Services business, responsible for ensuring quality, programme certainty, and successful construction delivery.

As the MEP Site Director/Project Construction Director, will be leading a team of 15-20 Beca staff providing technical QA oversight and progress tracking of the Contractors MEP works. They report to the Beca Project Director and are ultimately responsible for maintaining comprehensive supervision of the Contractors’ technical work, identifying any technical deviations and their resolutions, and tracking progress against the Contractors’ schedule. They will be full time on site working a 5 ½ day week.  They will meet regularly with the Client’s Project Management team to report on work status and help manage technical construction delivery challenges. Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. (recognised by PE board)

• 10 years experience in construction project management.

• Strong leadership and project management skills.

• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, safety practices, and project management.

Job Summary

The role leads setups, configurations, installations, and development on assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with technical and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate site execution activities by assisting the Project Manager to implement, monitor delivery, conduct site installation, inspection, and handover according to project schedules
• Report project progress and issues promptly to the Project Manager
• Manage daily deliverables and performance of subcontractors on site
• Set up and configure security systems including Access Control Systems and CCTV to meet project requirements
• Monitor and update site progress reports to reflect current status accurately
• Attend site safety and progress meetings to ensure compliance and alignment with project goals
• Handle permit applications and secure approvals from relevant authorities to maintain project compliance
• Document installation method statements and prepare site drawings for project records and reference
• Collaborate with Systems Engineer to develop security systems such as Access Control and CCTV solutions
• Conduct proof-of-concept testing and commissioning of security systems to validate functionality and performance
• Prepare project submissions, system designs, and installation drawings to support project execution and approvals
• Ensure all implemented work and systems conform to contract specifications and technical requirements
• Perform frontend equipment QR code tagging to facilitate asset tracking and management
• Comply with company governance procedures and workplace safety regulations at all times
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager to support project success

Required competencies and certifications

• Strong technical knowledge and certification on in-house security products to ensure competent system setup and troubleshooting
• Ability to work independently within guidelines and defined procedures while making decisions on assigned tasks
• Capability to solve problems effectively within established guidelines to maintain project progress and quality
• Ability to communicate clearly with customers and stakeholders to address enquiries professionally and provide user support
• Willingness and ability to be stationed at construction sites to oversee project execution and installation activities

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Understanding and knowledge of the Singapore security and surveillance sector, including its operating environment, limitations, and applications
• Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) knowledge and experience to support integrated system installations
• Skills in troubleshooting technical issues related to company products to resolve operational challenges
• Skills in engaging and servicing end-users with a collaborative, win-win mindset to foster positive relationships
• Negotiation skills with end-users on non-critical product maintenance requirements to facilitate service agreements
• Skills in preparing materials and delivering presentations in small group settings such as user demos, training, and customer presentations

Our esteemed client in the Electrical Engineering industry is seeking an Project Engineer to join their dynamic team:

• Employment Type: Permanent
• Position: Electrical Project Engineer (M&E / ELV)
• Location: Islandwide (depends on project’s location)
• Working Hours: 5.5 days (Mon to Fri, 9am to 6pm; Sat, 9am to 1pm)
• Salary Package: Up to $5,500 + Bonus

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and assist the Project Manager in project planning, coordination, and execution of all site activities.
• Prepare, review, and update engineering documents such as drawings, method statements, risk assessments, safe work procedures, and operation & maintenance manuals.
• Coordinate and supervise construction teams and subcontractors in the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and ELV systems to meet specifications and quality standards.
• Liaise with consultants, clients, and relevant authorities on engineering and technical matters.
• Plan and schedule site work activities according to the master program to ensure timely and safe completion.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform ad-hoc duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements:

• At least Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Electrical or M&E construction projects.
• Good understanding of electrical installation, testing, and commissioningworks.
• Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
• Familiar with local codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Able to work at different site locationsand adapt to dynamic project environments.
