Position Overview

EOS Innovation Singapore is seeking software engineers across a range of experience levels to support the development of advanced defence products. These are hands-on engineering roles embedded within multidisciplinary teams of mechanical, electronic, optical and systems engineers. The work combines software development with real hardware integration, experimental subsystems and evolving product requirements, and will suit engineers who enjoy solving practical problems, working close to prototypes and equipment, and turning emerging capability into robust, production-ready software.

Primary Duties

This role contributes to the design, development, integration, verification and support of software used in complex defence systems. Engineers in this position will work across activities such as equipment interfacing, control and automation, algorithm implementation, user interfaces, test support and system integration. More experienced candidates will be expected to provide technical leadership, guide software design decisions, mentor less experienced engineers and help shape robust engineering practices. Earlier-career candidates will be expected to contribute strongly to hands-on development, integration and problem-solving, while growing into increased technical ownership over time.

Responsibilities

·       Design, develop, test, integrate and maintain software for advanced defence products, ranging from equipment interfacing and control functions to data processing, automation and user-facing applications.

·      Work closely with multi disciplinary engineering teams to integrate software with prototypes, experimental hardware, embedded devices and evolving system designs.

·      Translate engineering requirements into practical software designs and contribute to verification and validation activities to demonstrate performance, safety and compliance.

·      Investigate and resolve technical issues encountered during development, integration, test and production support, including unexpected behaviours at system and equipment level.

·      Produce and maintain clear technical documentation, including design descriptions, interface definitions, test procedures, test records and manufacturing support material.

·      Apply sound software engineering practices, including version control, code review, debugging, testing and configuration management.

·      For more experienced candidates, lead software design activities, contribute to architecture decisions, support design reviews and provide technical guidance to other engineers.

·      Engage with internal stakeholders and customers to clarify requirements, communicate technical progress and support engineering decisions throughout the product lifecycle.

Education and Experience

·       Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline.

·      Experience with software development tools and practices, including source control, development environments, compilers, debugging and test tools.

·      Experience taking software from concept through prototyping, integration, verification and release is advantageous; for senior candidates, this is expected.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be working on:

• Partner with software engineers and other functions to understand objectives for development delivery efficiency and system resiliency, helping them articulate how specific technical capabilities and best practices will achieve key business outcomes.

Airwallex Risk Platform Team is responsible for protecting all Airwallex products across the lifecycle, including GTPN, PA, Issuing, Onboarding, and Account Takeover. The risk landscape evolves rapidly and fraud techniques are becoming increasingly sophisticated. We build scalable, reliable, and intelligent risk capabilities to stay ahead—helping Airwallex remain a trusted global partner for businesses.

Requirement:

• Diploma / Degree in relevant Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in the automation/semiconductor industry. Candidates will be offered a senior position based on qualification and/or experience.
• Strong programming skills in PLC and HMI. Preferably Omron and Mitsubishi PLC, Proface HM
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Able to read, design and troubleshoot from electrical schematics
• Good command of written and spoken English

The Team

Ascenda's API platform powers the enterprise backend of how users earn and redeem points across our varied product types. We do this across many different clients with various requirements on the way we consume their data feed and incentivise earning and spending. High throughputs and traffic spikes is operating environment with our clients, with the largest being above 1 million a day.

The Role

As a Senior Engineer for Loyalty, you will play a key part in running applications independently and driving project execution. You’ll work closely within the team and often outside the team, mentoring other engineers, and driving engineering excellence. You will have the opportunity to independently design, develop, ship, and maintain medium-to-large projects related to Loyalty.

• • Lead the design and implementation of projects related to Loyalty, seeking others’ reviews and driving projects independently.

Who You Are

• Strong technical background, prior experience in leading project delivery related to of large-scale, high-throughput distributed systems on the Cloud. Strong foundation in systems architecture, with a good understanding of infrastructure, networking, and databases. Experience in optimizing these components while integrating reliability and performance considerations throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Great collaborator who is comfortable working across a variety of teams beyond engineering, including product, design, business, operations, customer service, and external stakeholders.
• Fluency in ruby is good to have, though candidates who demonstrate willingness and ability to quickly scale up on Ruby are welcome to apply.
• Experienced in leveraging technical roadmaps/RFCs to communicate architecture designs and executing it fully.
• Preference on simple solutions and designs over complex ones, have a good intuition for what will last and scale, and can be a role model others look to for their own solutions and designs.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on system design and development.
• Have experience mentoring and/or leading junior engineers, guiding and coaching them for high performance will be a strong plus

Responsibilities:

• In charge of establishing the process and work in the team to implement risk management best practices in projects
• Implement and maintain the office's ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 compliant quality management system processes and procedures across departmental work and projects.
• Responsible in providing guidance and development support to the projects handled
• Taking charge of validating and advising project teams on regulatory, quality and risk requirements
• In charge of implementing and maintaining ISO 13485 and IEC 62304-compliant quality management system processes and procedures

• Min Degree in Engineering /Science or relevant
• Min 2 years of working experience in QMS, Risk Management and design & development in medical industry
• Experience in ISO13485 /IEC62304 audit is required
