We are building computer-vision capabilities on Linux-based edge devices. This role owns the embedded software that takes models from “works on a workstation” to “runs reliably, efficiently, and measurably fast on-device.” You will develop and optimize inference pipelines, integrate vendor runtimes on NPUs/MPUs, and work close to the Linux kernel when needed (performance, memory, I/O, and driver interactions).

What you will do

• Build and maintain production-grade embedded software for on-device computer vision inference (camera ingest, preprocessing, inference, postprocessing, telemetry) primarily in C++, with Rust as an option where appropriate.
• Integrate and run deep learning models using edge runtimes/toolchains (e.g., TensorRT, TFLite, OpenVINO, ONNX Runtime, vendor SDKs for NPUs/MPUs).
• Profile and optimize end-to-end performance: latency, throughput, memory footprint, power, and thermal constraints.

• Strong Linux systems knowledge, including at least some of: kernel fundamentals, device I/O, scheduling, memory behavior, and profiling/debugging tooling (e.g., perf, ftrace, eBPF).

• Integrate components across Linux BSP, drivers, middleware, and application layers into a cohesive system
• Ensure compatibility, stability, and performance across the full device software stack
• Identify system-level risks, bottlenecks, and dependencies early in development

Real-Time Performance & Debugging

• Debug complex issues across multiple layers (BSP, drivers, middleware, C++ applications)
• Analyze and optimize multi-threaded systems for low-latency and deterministic performance
• Investigate issues that involve both software behaviour and real-world system conditions.

Cross-Functional Engineering

• Work closely with hardware, firmware, and algorithm teams to ensure system alignment
• Translate product requirements into clear system behaviours and validation criteria
• Contribute to delivering reliable, production-ready features used in real-world environments

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant engineering role, with exposure to end-to-end product development
• Strong proficiency in modern C++ and multi-threading
• Experience working close to the system layer (Linux, BSP, drivers, or similar environments)
• Solid understanding of operating systems, systems design, and basic networking concepts
• Familiarity with Python or Bash scripting
• Proven ability to debug complex issues across multiple layers of a system
• Strong ownership mindset with a proactive, problem-solving approach
• Exposure to computer vision or sensor-based systems
• Experience working on embedded, edge, or device-based products

We are looking for a hands-on, versatile Mechanical Engineer who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership, and enjoys solving complex problems across the full product lifecycle. You will play a key role in bringing new products to life and elevating existing ones, working at the intersection of design, performance and manufacturability.

• Design and engineer robust, production-ready products optimized for manufacturability, assembly, and performance.

• Turn ideas into reality - translate customer and market needs into clear engineering specifications and innovative solutions.

• Validate what you build - test, iterate and refine designs to meet high standards across functionality, reliability, and compliance.

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design or related field of study. Relevant master's degree is added advantage. 

• Demonstrated interest and solid portfolio of case parts and/or mechanism design. Preferred experience in consumer electronics type products. 

• An Understanding of injection moulding, die casting and common manufacturing techniques and finishes.  

• A creative and considered approach to problem solving, following clear design processes with pragmatic approach to balance cost and value. 
• Strong aptitude for problem solving and ability to organise and prioritize work
• A resourceful, adaptable, and proactive team player

• Experience to verify performance through empirical testing as well as analytical models.

Responsibilities
