About the Role
The Centre for Epidemic Response & Modelling (CERM) at NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health invites applications for a Research Fellow to drive AI-centred research within a portfolio that spans decision-support for pandemic response, social network modelling, equitable AI for clinical applications, and developing culturally-congruent LLMs to advance behavioural modelling in public health.

The postholder will work with Asst. Prof. Swapnil Mishra (Deputy Director, CERM and AI for Public Health Programme) and engage an active network of collaborators spanning CERM, NUS, Imperial College London, Ashoka University, the Communicable Diseases Agency Singapore (CDA), the National Environment Agency Singapore (NEA), the Machine Learning & Global Health Network (MLGH), and wider regional and global partners. They will have significant latitude to shape their research direction within these themes and will collaborate closely with engineers, epidemiologists, clinicians, and policy stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and validate deep learning and machine learning models for behaviour modelling,
including foundation models, graph neural networks (GNNs), and sequence models applied
to public data for good.
• Prototype and evaluate reinforcement learning frameworks for simulating and optimising
public health interventions under uncertainty.
• Build AI pipelines for social network and information diffusion modelling; explore LLMbased
simulation of intervention scenarios.

The A*STAR Skin Research Labs invites applications for a Research Officer to support ongoing research in the Digital Twin of Skin (DTS) and optical metrology of Asian skin. The successful candidate will work with Associate Professor Valiyaveettil Suresh on developing new materials under a project on Multidimensional porous carbon materials.

The main responsibilities of the position include:
Synthesis & characterization of materials
Writing papers and sending them to journals for publication
Help with safety arrangements in the lab. 

Qualifications

•    Qualifications / Discipline: Bachelor in Chemistry or Materials

•    Skills: The person will need skills on synthesis and characterisation of molecules & metal complexes, write scientific papers, managing safety in the lab. 

•    Experience:  Experience in the above mentioned areas are highly desirable. 

Job Summary

We are looking for an independent scientist capable of leading a research program in Immunology & Inflammation research, fostering collaborations, securing competitive grants, and contributing to translational outcomes.

Core Competencies (Broad & Non‑Restrictive)

• Strong expertise in molecular and cellular biology, with experience in genomics or epigenomics‑related approaches.
• Ability to interpret and integrate NGS datasets (e.g., transcriptional or chromatin profiling such as ChIP‑seq) as part of their research program.
• Demonstrated track record in securing peer‑reviewed national grants.
• Experience working within Singapore’s research ecosystem and building multi‑institutional partnerships including with clinical partners.
• Interest and experience in translating scientific discoveries toward clinical or industry impact (e.g., IP, collaborations, translational grants).

Key Responsibilities

• Lead an independent research program aligned to the lab’s and institute’s strategic priorities, with flexibility in disease area or biological focus.
• Develop a sustainable funding pipeline as PI/Co‑PI across basic, clinical, and translational research schemes.
• Guide research direction and technical strategy, including experimental and/or computational aspects of high‑throughput sequencing workflows.
• Mentor junior researchers (students, fellows, and research staff) and foster scientific development within the team.
• Strengthen translational pathways, including IP generation, collaboration with tech‑transfer offices, and engagement with relevant industry or clinical stakeholders.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• PhD in a relevant Life Science field.
• Approximately 5–10 years post‑PhD research experience with evidence of independence and leadership.

Technical Strengths

• Proficiency in molecular biology and functional assays.
• Experience with genomic or epigenomic techniques (e.g., NGS, transcriptional profiling, chromatin mapping methods).
• Familiarity with analysis or interpretation of high‑throughput sequencing data (e.g., RNA‑seq, ChIP‑seq, ATAC‑seq).

Additional Skills

• Strong communication skills for grant writing and stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines, including interactions with clinical partners.

UWCSEA East has a vacancy from August 2026 for a Part-Time Teacher of High School Mathematics.

The appointee will teach a range of classes from Grade 9 to Grade 12. The department offers all four courses at the IB Diploma Mathematics as well as our concept-­based curriculum in Grades 9 and 10.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they are an inspiring practitioner with the drive to continually develop within the profession.

Person Specifications 

• A good degree in Mathematics or a closely related discipline and a recognized teaching qualification or certification are expected.
• Experience in curriculum programme development. IBDP experience teaching HLAI is essential.
