We are seeking a Research Fellow to lead the development of advanced modelling and design methodologies for integrated hydrogen-energy systems, with a focus on thermal integration of metal hydride storage systems.

The Research Fellow will develop CFD models, process simulations, and system-level integration strategies to enable efficient hydrogen desorption driven by waste heat. Job Description

The successful candidate will work with A/P Lau On Sun on studying the production of stomata in plants under a project on Singapore Indoor Farming System.

The main responsibilities of the position include:
running a project in the lab where we aim to study the production and behavior of stomatal guard cells in plants. The work will involve the generation of transgenic plants, analyses of plant varieties and mutants, performing light and confocal microscopy, image analyses, and various in vitro and in vivo biochemical, molecular, and genomic analyses. Qualifications

Skills:

Purpose of the Post

Imperial Global Singapore, Imperial College London’s formal research and innovation entity in Singapore, is seeking an experienced senior postdoctoral research fellow for the NH3-SOFC research programme on development of direct ammonia solid oxide fuel cells. This programme represents a new and timely collaboration between the United Kingdom and Singapore and will be based at Imperial Global Singapore (IGS) offices, located on the campus of the National University of Singapore.

The programme aims to develop solid oxide fuel cells that can effectively and efficiently use ammonia directly as a fuel source while maintaining high performance and durability. To overcome challenges related to material compatibility, anode degradation due to nitrification, slow chemical/electrochemical processes, and performance loss, the research will explore new materials, catalysts, and cell designs. There will be two cell types of interest in this programme: i) oxygen-ion and ii) proton-conducting ceramic membrane electrolytes. The project will span the length scales, from materials discovery, including with computational approaches, through mechanical properties and microstructure optimisation to incorporation into short stacks for durability testing.

This post will be dedicated to the development of operando characterisation approaches appropriate to the development of high performance and degradation resistant electrode materials for use in either oxide ion conducting or proton conducting solid oxide fuel cells. The post holder will work closely with the computational team to analyse new candidate materials that demonstrate potential for electrocatalytic ammonia decomposition. Initial candidate materials will include high entropy oxides, nitrides and oxide nitrides, each of which have shown initial promising hydrogen production capabilities. Research will involve the structural and electrochemical characterisation of materials, including in-situ and operando methods, supporting their deployment into short stacks in collaboration with the team at Nanyang Technological University. We will also explore the potential to undertake isotopic ammonia labelling of the electrode candidates.

Candidates will be employed by Imperial Global Singapore, a research division of Imperial College London, consistently ranked within the top 5 of the QS University Rankings. Candidates will be resident and based in Singapore, but there will be opportunities for research visits to Imperial’s London-based locations, and the position is a great opportunity to gain international research experience in the South-East Asian Region.

Job Description: 

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join our team for a fixed-term project. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of food products within the International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative (IDDSI) framework, with a specific focus on Level 5 (Minced & Moist). This role will involve applying food structure understanding to formulate and optimise products with appropriate texture, appearance, and nutritional quality, while supporting laboratory trials, product evaluation, and data analysis to guide product refinement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct literature reviews on food structure, texture-modified foods, ingredient functionality, and the IDDSI framework, with a focus on Level 5 (Minced & Moist) foods.
• Apply a strong understanding of food structure and structure–property relationships to design and develop elderly-friendly food products with appropriate texture, cohesiveness, moisture retention, appearance, and nutritional quality.
• Plan and conduct laboratory trials to evaluate product performance and support the translation of food structure knowledge into practical formulation strategies.
• Collect, analyse, and interpret experimental data to understand product behaviour and drive iterative product refinement.
• Document formulation rationale, experimental findings, and product development outcomes in technical reports, presentations, and research publications.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including food scientists, clinicians, and engineers, to develop products that are scientifically grounded, practical, acceptable, and aligned with end-user needs.

Job Requirements:

• A Ph.D./Doctorate in Food Science, Food Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field with experience in food structure, food materials, texture-modified foods, or a related research area. Only candidates with Ph.D./Doctorate qualification will be considered and possibly shortlisted for an interview. 
• Strong understanding of food structure and structure–property relationships, and their application to food formulation and product development.
• Ability to evaluate how ingredient functionality, microstructure, and processing conditions influence product texture, stability, appearance, and eating quality.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret experimental results and translate findings into practical product refinement strategies.
• Proficiency in data analysis software such as Microsoft Excel or other statistical tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop data-driven energy disaggregation models to estimate machine-, process-, and batch-level energy consumption from aggregated or limited metering data.
• Design and implement energy monitoring, analytics and benchmarking algorithms for energy performance tracking, anomaly detection, and causal analytics related to energy-saving of industrial equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Conduct experiments, model validation, and performance evaluation using industrial datasets.
• Work closely with project partners, engineers, and researchers to translate research outcomes into deployable industrial solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in data analytics, machine learning, and time-series processing.
• Knowledge of energy systems, power consumption analysis, industrial equipment, or manufacturing processes.
• Experience with machine learning techniques for regression, classification, anomaly detection, forecasting, or signal disaggregation.
• Ability to process and analyze large-scale time-series datasets.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in applied research and development projects.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in non-intrusive load monitoring, energy disaggregation, virtual sensing, or industrial energy analytics.
• Experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with causal analytics.
• Knowledge of manufacturing systems, additive manufacturing, CNC, heat treatment, pumps, compressors, motors, or other industrial equipment.
• Prior experience in applied R&D projects with industry partners is an advantage.

Job Summary

The Incumbent will support the Group's regional business development, strategic partnership, and project assessment initiatives, with a focus on banking, financial technology, and digital transformation opportunities. Working under the guidance of management and senior team members, the role will conduct research, business and operational analysis, market intelligence gathering, stakeholder coordination, and project assessment activities. The incumbent will assist in evaluating business opportunities, preparing analytical reports, and coordinating with Group companies, business partners, and prospective clients across the region to support the Group's strategic growth objectives.

The incumbent will work closely with and report regularly to the Japan Headquarters on regional initiatives and strategic opportunities. The role requires regular engagement with senior management, Group companies, and stakeholders across the Group's target markets, including Japan's banking and financial services sector, to facilitate information gathering, analysis, and collaboration in support of the Group's business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support the Group's regional business development and strategic initiatives through preliminary assessment of business opportunities, preparation of analytical findings, and coordination of evaluation activities in the banking, financial services, and financial technology sectors.
2. Engage with prospective clients, business partners, and Group companies to understand business objectives, operational needs, and collaboration opportunities.
3. Assist in conducting business process reviews, requirements-gathering sessions, and operational assessments to support feasibility evaluation of potential projects and partnerships.
4. Document current-state business processes, workflows, operational requirements, and discussion outcomes, and prepare structured analysis reports for management review.
5. Support the analysis of business, functional, and non-functional requirements to identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.

11. Prepare research findings, management reports, and updates for Headquarters and senior management on business opportunities, project assessments, and stakeholder engagement activities.
12. Track and maintain records of ongoing opportunities, stakeholder engagements, and project evaluation activities for management reporting.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in consulting, project management, application delivery support, business analysis, business development, banking technology, or financial services.
• Experience in core banking systems, digital banking platforms, lending systems, payment systems, Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS), or other financial technology solutions.
• Experience in business requirements gathering, business process analysis, solution assessment, and stakeholder management.
• Ability to engage with both business and technical stakeholders and translate business requirements into practical analysis and recommendations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams, vendors, consultants, and project stakeholders in a regional or multinational environment.

• Experience working with banks, financial institutions, or banking technology providers, preferably with exposure to banking operations, core banking systems, and financial services practices across regional markets, including Japan. Practical experience in the development, implementation, enhancement, or support of IT systems within Japan's banking and financial services sector will be highly advantageous.
• Good understanding of banking industry practices and banking-related IT systems, with exposure to the Japanese banking market, including technology architecture, operational processes, and digital transformation initiatives. Ability to analyse, compare, and assess differences between Japan-market requirements and regional market requirements.
• Ability to bridge business and operational requirements between Headquarters, regional entities, and market stakeholders, including those in Japan, and provide recommendations that align with both Group objectives and local market needs.
• Experience in research, market intelligence, project coordination, stakeholder support, or strategy support functions would be advantageous.
• Excellent command of spoken and written Japanese and English to review business and technical documentation, and to support regular communication with Headquarters, Group companies, and business partners in Japan and other international markets.
