The Role

As Manager, Client Solutions you will support the Head of Protection, India in achieving our new business plan and in managing how we are perceived by our Protection clients in the India market. You will help to manage client relationships– forming deep relationships across the business, developing in-depth knowledge of our clients’ needs as well finding creative ways to tackle challenges.  Supporting client relationships includes setting client strategies and working collaboratively with others to execute these strategies.

As part of the role you support the negotiation and implementation of new treaties within our business.  You will also be a significant contributor to the co-ordination of client work across all Pacific Life Re departments and manage client communications.  Maintain accurate and up to date information on client contact, opportunities, actions and treaty work in our CRM system is expected for all client facing roles.  Drive forward ad-hoc initiatives that improve the way we work and the service we provide to clients. 

Duties

Client Management

• Support the management of existing client relationships for their client portfolio through client meetings, presentations and identifying gaps and opportunities for new relationships;
• Work with the Head of Protection, India and all relevant teams across PL Re to ensure high service standards are maintained in relation to client queries and requests;
• Supporting the Head of Protection, India to produce timely, high quality responses to client invitations to tender for their client portfolio and to ensure the Quote Process is adhered to;
• Promote PL Re through presentations and attendance at industry conferences.

Business Management & Implementation

• Liaise and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders including the Protection Pricing, Underwriting and Claims Directors.
• Support business implementation projects with the Operations & Corporate Actuarial teams, including the implementation and handover of new Protection treaties and addenda.
• Take ownership of the quarterly new business MI, leading discussions with the Operations team on the data received by clients and discussing variations with the wider BD team to understand the movements.
• Update the quarterly protection market overview based on ABI data and provide commentary on key changes for the wider team.
• Support the Protection Business planning and budgeting process, working with the Head of Protection, India.

Innovation & Technical Perception

• Support the India Market Leadership team in the implementation of new project initiatives.
• Challenge current client meeting content and support improvements across general quality, technical detail and communication, to help us continue to stand out in the market. 
• Work with internal stakeholders to take advantage of existing technical work and ensure knowledge isn’t lost that may beneficial in client communication. 
• Support Head of Protection, India in continually and proactively looking to ‘put ourselves in the clients shoes’ and develop new analysis streams that add value to the reinsurance relationship. 

Treaty & Contract Work

• Support treaty and addenda negotiation and implementation with their clients;
• Produce first draft treaty documentation, with input and review from the Head of Protection, India where necessary;
• Liaise with internal stakeholders in DBS, Underwriting and Claims, Pricing and Legal to incorporate their views and ensure appropriate review takes place before contracts are finalised;
• Ensure the Treaty Authority is adhered to and audit trails are documented in line with agreed processes; and
• Support management of treaty pipeline for clients and provide updates internally as required.

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications

• Actuarial, Mathematics, Economics or Science-based degree, and
• Qualified Actuary/Nearly Qualified with at least ten years’ experience in the Protection market in Asia, and more specifically some experience India (or equivalent qualification or experience) is preferred

Knowledge & Experience

• Understanding of protection experience and the drivers for changing claims and persistency rates;
• Knowledge and understanding of the key product features on the various long-term protection products;
• Knowledge and understanding of different reinsurance structures used in the Indian Protection Market.

Requirements

The Senior Analytical Science & Technology Manager is accountable for end-to-end analytical science and QC laboratory quality systems governance, ensuring robust analytical execution, compliant laboratory systems, and sustained inspection readiness in support of API manufacturing.

Responsibilities

1. Analytical Sciences & Technology (AS&T) Leadership 

• Lead all Analytical Method Transfer Exercises (AMTE) for APIs transferring into, within, and out of the site. 
• Own the analytical method lifecycle, including development, validation, verification, compendial review impact assessments, and robustness improvements. 
• Ensure analytical approaches align with ICH guidance, PQS, and site SOPs. 
• Provide SME oversight for analytical troubleshooting, method failures, and complex laboratory investigations. 

2. QC Quality Systems & Laboratory Systems Ownership 

• Own and govern QC laboratory quality systems, including:  
• Deviations, investigations, and root cause analysis 
• CAPA definition and effectiveness 
• Data Integrity governance 
• SOP lifecycle management 
• Change management impacting analytical methods and laboratory systems 
•  Act as system owner / business process owner for core QC laboratory systems, including:

Established in 2011 in a joint effort by the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA), the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), SMI develops strategies and programmes to achieve its mission with key focus areas in sectors such as port, shipping and maritime services. SMI charts the maritime research strategy and promotes greater industry-academia R&D collaborations to be undertaken in Singapore.

Roles and responsibilities

We are seeking for a Senior Manager, to be part of our R&D team, to strive towards our Mission in establishing Singapore as a leading global maritime research centre of excellence in Next Generation Port, Smart Shipping, and Green Technologies.

You will support the Deputy Executive Director and work with a team of R&D managers to strengthen R&D collaborations between our maritime industry and academia partners.

What you will be working on:

The key responsibilities will include:

Strategy Planning

· Map out latest developments and carry out gap analyses in science and technologies relevant to maritime domain, and identify new emerging areas for Singapore’s maritime strategic interests;

· Develop strategies, initiatives and programmes for the translation, deployment, commercialisation, and internationalisation of maritime R&D through engaging government agencies, Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), Research Institutes (RIs), maritime companies and other relevant stakeholders

Initiatives and Programmes

· Plan and implement R&D programs and initiatives;

· Evaluate R&D proposals submitted or led by IHLs/RIs;

· Oversee and manage performances of maritime Centres of Excellence and Programme Partners;

· Manage awarded projects and budgets, including variations to budget/ project duration/ project-lead, collation of reports, and review of completed projects.

Engagement

· Engage potential overseas IHLs/RIs to identify synergies, coordinate maritime R&D collaborations, and facilitate multilateral R&D engagements for impactful joint initiatives.

· Engage companies in the maritime industry to understand their technology and business needs, partnering with key stakeholders to showcase local R&D capabilities, and facilitating research opportunities by harmonizing industry needs with local R&D capabilities;

· Drive partnerships between the research ecosystem and industry, and to catalyse technology commercialisation, focusing on industry collaboration projects and translation platforms in the maritime domain

· Plan and organise engagement visits to project partners

Other Duties:

· Oversee R&D processes to ensure compliance with established funding policies and procedures;

· Manage internal R&D capability development and resourcing;

· Represent SMI in R&D matters, when required or any other ad hoc duties assigned.

Qualification and Experience

a. Background in science and engineering fields with 5 years of relevant working experience, of which 3 years are in supervisory and developmental capacity;

b. Experience in R&D strategy formulation, technology fore-sighting / road mapping, technology translation, and/or good working knowledge of the R&D landscape in Singapore.

c. Experience with grant governance and administration e.g. funding guidelines or compliance requirements;

d. Strong interest in applied science and technology R&D and research community engagement;

Skills

a. Proficient in Microsoft Office and grant management software (e.g. Oracle Netsuite);

b. Good analytical skills, with an ability to take a strategic perspective when formulating proposals and recommendations;

c. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills for effective engagement of senior stakeholders, partner agencies, IHLs/RIs and companies;

• Looking for new clients, building an effective pipeline and identify opportunities that are profitable.
• Develop and maintain relationships within assigned client segment to ensure maximum satisfaction and retention levels.
