Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant (Quality Assurance (QA) Executive) in the Clinical Imaging Research Centre (CIRC), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. CIRC is a dedicated molecular imaging research centre. It is equipped with on-site capability for the preparation of PET radiopharmaceuticals in a state-of-the-art GMP-certified facility. CIRC is positioned to support both academic and commercially led clinical research programs, with dedicated clinical imaging facilities area advanced modalities of PET-CT and PET-MRI. Purpose of the post

This role provides QA support across document control, batch record management, training records, supplier documentation, audits, and quality system activities. Responsibilities include maintaining quality registers, tracking due dates and CAPA actions, supporting Bizzmine eQMS document control, checking Batch Manufacturing Records for completeness, and assisting with QA reporting and trending. Also supports GMP training, supplier qualification records, inspection readiness, and maintenance of key controlled documents. In addition, the role contributes to QA improvement work and is being trained to support investigational radiopharmaceutical release as an Authorised Person under supervision.

Main duties and responsibilities

The QA Executive will be able to:

1. Provide OMS Support – maintain and update registers

3. Support Batch Record (BMR) & QA Operations
4. Assist, arrange & support training and filing of training records, especially the annual GMP training

Qualifications

The applicant should:

1. Have a minimum of bachelor’s degree (Honours) or higher in Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Life Sciences or related discipline;
2. Previous experience working in a PET radiochemistry facility is highly desirable. 
3. Typically, 1-3 years of relevant experience in QA/QC/QMS in a regulated environment (GMP/PIC/S GMP experience is strongly preferred). 
4. Excellent understanding of radiochemical and radiopharmaceutical processes, including material flows, quality controls, and critical parameters in GMP environments. 
5. Strong organizational and project planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a regulated environment. 
6. Working knowledge of GMP principles and their application to equipment qualification, maintenance, and facility operations. 
7. Understanding of radiation safety principles and engineered controls for radioactive materials. 
8. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to problem-solving across scientific, quality, and engineering disciplines. 
9. Working knowledge of PIC/S GMP and good documentation practices (GDP). 
10. Strong coordination skills; able to follow up across teams and manage multiple deadlines.

Job Description

• Design, develop, and implement Advanced engineering and process control solutions to optimize production processes, streamline workflows, and boost manufacturing productivity.
• Continuously assess and enhance Advanced engineering and process control capabilities/features to meet evolving production requirements, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal operational disruptions.
• Generate and manage comprehensive reports on production and manufacturing KPIs
• Take charge of Advanced process control (APC) and fault detection classification (FDC) projects from initiation to conclusion, defining E2E integration scope, managing timelines, and providing regular progress updates.
• Proactively monitor APC/FDC performance, pre-emptively identify potential system issues, and implement preventive measures to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Conduct regular maintenance of APC/FDC software and hardware, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure systems operate at peak performance.
• Collaborate with production and IT teams to identify opportunities for overall Advanced engineering process control improvement and implement changes that align with long-term operational objectives.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of programming languages such as Java, C#, Groovy or Python and experience with database management such as Oracle
• Proficient in Model predictive control definition and understanding in semiconductor manufacturing system, processes and technologies
• Proven track record in Advanced Process control system (APC, FDC) development, integration, and optimization in a semiconductor environment.
• Understanding of AMAT E3 and PDF Exensio application will be added advantage.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with IT cross functional team (MES, EA, IMC)
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience

About our group:

Material Science Lab is part of the Research and Development facilities located in Shugart building to support all Hard Disk Drives (HDD) and some non-HDD material related selection, qualification, failure analysis, etc. The functions of the team include performing material, coating and adhesive level selection, testing and qualification for HDDs, and performing component proactive qualifications for HDD programs. In addition, the lab is involved in advanced material development / selection. The lab also has multiple cross-site &/or cross-functional collaborations on various projects and areas of work.

About the role - you will:

Responsible for the characterization and qualification of HDD components and materials, with a focus on component cleanliness & reliability performance. The role involves developing and refining test methods to address reliability issues, applying material science and engineering principles to generate effective solutions.

This position requires independent problem-solving across non-routine technical challenges and rigorous data analysis. You will work with minimal day-to-day supervision and take ownership of assigned projects. This is a career-focused, journey-level role that demands a high level of independence.

The role also includes the use of analytical tools such as Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) / Energy Dispersive X-ray detector (EDX), Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy (FTIR), Raman spectroscopy, and other analytical techniques to assess material cleanliness and qualify components and materials for use in Seagate HDDs.

Your experience includes:

• Requires a Bachelor degree in Engineering (Chemical or Material Science/Engineering).
• Preferable with relevant Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) / Energy Dispersive X-ray detector (EDX) &/or Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy (FTIR), &/or Raman Spectroscopy experience (i.e., operation, troubleshooting or analysis).
