Mid / Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role

We are hiring a Mid / Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and maintain reliable backend services, APIs, and system integrations for modern Web3, AI, crypto, and social product initiatives.

This role is suitable for someone who can work independently, understand product requirements, write clean and maintainable code, and support production systems from development to deployment.

Location

• Work from home only. You need a suitable home workspace and reliable internet.

Work Hours & Delivery

• Flexible working hours, outcome-focused: priority is that responsibilities are completed to standard.
• Deadline accountability: each project and milestone must be delivered by agreed completion dates. If a risk appears, you escalate early.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and server-side application logic.
• Develop scalable and secure backend systems that support web, mobile, Web3, AI, crypto, or social product features.
• Integrate databases, third-party APIs, blockchain RPCs, wallets, and internal platform services when required.
• Work with frontend, mobile, DevOps, product, and design teams to define API contracts and delivery requirements.
• Write clean, readable, tested, and maintainable code, and participate in code reviews.
• Troubleshoot backend bugs, API failures, performance issues, security concerns, and production incidents.
• Document key backend logic, API behavior, deployment notes, and technical decisions when needed.

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of relevant experience, with proven experience in different project types.
• Comfortable with a remote and on-call work culture.
• 3+ years of backend development experience, with mid to senior-level ownership preferred.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, APIs, databases, authentication, caching, queues, and background jobs.
• Experience with Go (Golang) is preferred; Python experience for scripting, automation, or backend tooling is a plus.
• Familiar with Linux, Git, GitHub workflows, Docker, and basic deployment processes.
• Able to work with cloud or server environments such as AWS, EC2, Lightsail, Nginx, or similar tools.
• Basic Web3 development literacy, including wallets, RPCs, smart contract interaction, or blockchain integration patterns.
• Able to collaborate with frontend and mobile engineers on API integration, authentication, and system behavior.
• Proficient in using AI tools to improve development efficiency while still verifying correctness, security, and production suitability.
• Strong problem-solving skills, communication skills, ownership, and ability to work independently.

Nice to Have

• Experience with high-traffic systems or AI products.
• Experience with CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and production troubleshooting.
• Experience with reward systems, referral flows, wallet systems, or on-chain data integrations.
• Able to read or coordinate with React / React Native codebases when backend integration is required.
• Chinese and English communication skills are preferred.
