The Internal Communications Lead will develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy to deliver the company’s strategic messages and provide all employees with regular and relevant information about the business.

You will manage the end-to-end delivery of content on the company’s internal communications platform, and work closely with stakeholders to run internal campaigns and events such as the global business town hall.This role focuses on ensuring consistent and engaging internal communications,campaigns, and employee engagement initiatives for GAR’s global business.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and lead implementation of the company’s internal communications plan, providing all employees with regular, meaningful, and consistent information about the business and reinforcing company key messages.
• Project manage content development and delivery for the company’s internal communication portal (OneGAR), covering events, announcements and features that showcase the company’s global operations. Includes suggesting content for the editorial calendar, scheduling the editorial timeline, sourcing articles, editing,coordinating approvals and key events timelines with team including HR, IR, etc,and ensuring the timely production and dissemination of content.
• Lead and manage employee engagement events and campaigns.
• Develop storytelling and corporate narratives to enhance corporate reputation as a responsible agribusiness and employer branding as a great place to work.
• Provide the Content Marketing Team with relevant content for the company’s social media channels and website.
• Manage crisis communications with internal stakeholders when required.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders to proactively source relevant, engaging content and build editorial pipeline.
• Produce relevant content for internal publications such as brochures, leaflets, videos and infographics etc.
• Develop content submission SOPs and tone of voice guidelines to ensure content meets agreed standards for our global audience.
• Proactively share internal communications best practices, learnings, and successes among offices in various countries.
• Report on content performance and provide analysis and recommendations to improve quality and effectiveness of content.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Corporate Communication, Global; Vice President Strategic Communication and Branding; and Chief Sustainability and Communication Officer as and when necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree is an advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia needed to manage internal corporate communications, connecting workforces in Indonesia and global destination markets.  
• Min 5 years of experience in internal communications,corporate communications, or a related role, from either an agency or in-house role at a multinational organisation.
• Proven track record of developing and executing communication strategies that drive employee engagement.
• Familiarity with the palm oil industry, agriculture or other commodities is a plus, but not mandatory.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and communication tools/platforms.
• Adept at using analytics to measure, analyse and improve communication effectiveness.
• Creates clear, compelling content in different formats and registers to connect with diverse global audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills to source, research and present information from internal stakeholders in formats that will be engaging and insightful for internal audiences.
• Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Strong cultural awareness and the ability to adapt communication styles across different audiences.

A DAY IN A LIFE

As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:

• Content marketing support – assist the Content Marketer with content planning, caption drafting, asset creation and repurposing, resizing marketing materials, and maintaining organised creative files.
• Campaign and collaboration – support campaign execution by updating trackers and timelines, following up on internal deliverables, and coordinating merchandise with relevant teams and partners.
• Support product marketing by compiling information into Notion, decks, and Google Sheets, and assisting with internal documentation updates such as SOPs and playbooks.

The “must-haves” for this role:

• Creative with a keen eye – basic proficiency in video editing (e.g., CapCut) and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva).
• Strong copywriting skills - able to make any message clear and engaging
• Attention to detail
• Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable running the show without needing constant supervision.
• Able to pivot through tight deadlines and adapt as and when priorities shift.
• Comfortable working with different teams and seniority
• Outspoken and comfortable presenting or hosting
• Bonus: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides).
