This is a senior leadership position, managing a team of 3 pax to lead the Technology Finance team. This will include performance management, budgeting, and strategic advisory while shaping the firm’s frameworks for digital and AI projects. You will be required to partner closely with senior leaders from the Technology Business Unit to optimise cost, drive insights, and improve resource allocation.

The successful candidate should come with at least 15+ years’ relevant experience in FP&A, Finance Business Partnering from a Financial Institution or MNC. A seasoned finance leader with team management experience. Strong communication skills and stakeholder management skills, strong influencing ability, and negotiation skills to be able to partner C-suite stakeholders.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with a strong Chemical Engineering background and over 25 years of industry experience in petrochemical and downstream processing projects. The CTO will lead the company’s technology strategy, engineering excellence, and project execution capabilities across complex, large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology Leadership

• Define and drive the company’s technology vision, strategy, and roadmap.
• Lead innovation and adoption of advanced technologies in petrochemical processes and plant design.
• Provide technical authority on process engineering, design standards, and best practices.

2. Engineering Management

• Oversee Basic Engineering Design (BED) and Detailed Engineering Design (DED) activities.
• Ensure engineering quality, efficiency, and compliance with international standards.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams across process, mechanical, piping, instrumentation, and electrical disciplines.

3. Project Execution Excellence

• leadership across full project lifecycle execution (FEED, EPC, commissioning).
• Guide teams in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Act as technical advisor for complex engineering and execution challenges.

4. Project Leadership Experience

• Leverage prior experience as Project Engineer and Project Manager to strengthen execution frameworks.

5. Petrochemical Expertise

• Provide deep technical oversight and guidance on projects including:

1. Naphtha Cracker to Polyolefins
2. PTA and PET
3. Condensate Splitter and Aromatics

• Evaluate new technologies, licensors, and process improvements in these domains.

6. Stakeholder & Business Support

• Support business development with technical proposals, feasibility studies, and client presentations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Master’s or PhD preferred).
• Minimum 25 years of relevant experience in petrochemical / EPC / chemical industries.

• Extensive experience in:

1. Basic and Detailed Engineering Design
2. Project Engineering and Project Management roles
3. Large-scale project execution (EPC / EPCM)

• Proven track record in delivering complex petrochemical projects.
• Strong leadership experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams.

ABOUT YOU

Soft skills and requirements

• Bachelor's degree from top business or engineering schools (Master's degree or MBA preferred)
• Minimum of 8 years experience with 5+ years in the consulting industry and leadership role
• Strong knowledge in the one of the following fields: Pharmaceutical industry/Engineering/IT
• Fluent in English to liaise with different stakeholders in Europe and Asia
