About the Role

The Director, Global Supply Chain& Strategic Partnerships is a senior leadership role within Group Strategy. You will be accountable for setting the vision, strategy, and governance for EDMI’s end-to-end global supply chain, owning how and who EDMI partners with, and defining the commercial frameworks that underpin our supply ecosystem.

Working closely with Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Finance, and regional leadership teams, you will ensure supply chain decisions are aligned with EDMI’s business objectives and long-term product roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and lead EDMI’s global end-to-end supply chain strategy, ensuring resilience, scalability, cost efficiency, and alignment to business and product strategy.
• Establish global supply chain governance frameworks, decision rights, standards, and policies across regions and product lines.
• Develop and lead long-term strategic supplier and partner relationships to deliver innovation, value creation, and risk mitigation.
• Define and govern global sourcing strategies, supplier segmentation, and make-or-buy decisions.
• Own global commercial and contractual frameworks including pricing mechanisms, cost models, IP protection, and risk allocation.
• Establish and oversee global supplier performance frameworks covering cost, quality, delivery, risk, and sustainability.
• Partner closely with cross-functional and regional leaders to deliver integrated end-to-end outcomes.
• Champion OneEDMI values and foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and quality-first thinking.

Skills & Experience

• Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related discipline; postgraduate or executive education is an advantage.
• Extensive experience leading global supply chain, procurement, or commercial functions within technology, manufacturing, or regulated industries.
• Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with solid understanding of P&L, balance sheet, pricing models, Opex vs Capex, and Incoterms.
• Proven ability to operate at executive level and influence across functions and geographies.
• Experience managing complex global supplier ecosystems and long-term strategic partnerships.
• Strong understanding of supply risk management, governance, compliance, and continuity planning.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills within global, multicultural environments.

As part of our Digital Supply Chain & Commercial Transformation practice, you will support transformation programs for Japanese and multinational clients across the region, spanning supply chain, operating model, commercial growth, and route‑to‑market initiatives.

You will work at the intersection of strategy, operations, digital and analytics, supporting clients from diagnostic through implementation with significant exposure to Japanese stakeholders.

We take an AI‑ and analytics‑first approach to enhance all transformations, covering a broad spectrum of Digital, AI and Analytics capabilities across Supply Chain and Commercial (Sales & Marketing).

Your Key Responsibilities

Digital Supply Chain & Transformation

• Support and deliver end-to-end supply chain transformation initiatives, including:
• Supply chain diagnostics and maturity assessments
• Digital roadmap development (planning, execution, visibility, control tower concepts)
• Process redesign across Plan / Source / Make / Deliver
• Translate business requirements into structured transformation initiatives and implementation plans
• Apply an AI‑ and analytics‑first approach to identify opportunities, enhance processes, and drive measurable impact across supply chain and commercial workflows

Commercial & Revenue Growth

• Support commercial transformation and growth initiatives, including:
• Route-to-market strategy and capability building
• Revenue growth management (pricing, mix, channels)
• Demand planning and sales–supply alignment
• Analyse commercial and operational data to identify growth and efficiency opportunities
• Design performance management frameworks to sustain commercial outcomes

Client Delivery & Stakeholder Management

• Lead day-to-day workstreams and contribute to overall project delivery
• Prepare executive-ready deliverables with clear storylines and recommendations
• Facilitate client discussions and workshops in Japanese and English
• Act as a bridge between Japanese HQ stakeholders and regional / local teams
• Coach junior team members and review their outputs

Firm & Practice Contribution

• Contribute to proposal development and business development activities
• Support internal knowledge development and methodology enhancement
• Actively participate in practice initiatives and team development
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or relevant fields.
• 2 years of experience in consulting, or supply chain/operations/commercial transformation
• Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills; ability to interpret and structure data
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities
• Business-fluent English and Japanese
