Job Summary

We are looking for a driven Business Development Manager to lead growth for Leaf CRM. This is a product-focused sales role where you will run the full sales cycle for Leaf CRM, from identifying and qualifying leads, to delivering product demos, to closing subscriptions and handing customers over for onboarding. The ideal candidate understands how SaaS and CRM products are bought and sold, communicates clearly, and has a track record of meeting sales targets.

What you will do

• Own the Leaf CRM sales pipeline: Research, identify, and qualify prospects across Malaysia and the wider region, and develop targeted strategies to approach and convert them.
• Run structured outreach campaigns: Work with lead providers and prospect lists to drive consistent outbound activity (cold calls, follow-ups, and book qualified demo appointments.)
• Deliver compelling Leaf CRM demos, lead trial conversations, prepare proposals and contracts, and close monthly and annual subscriptions.
• Develop deep product knowledge to effectively map Leaf CRM features to each prospect's sales and workflow needs
• Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships to drive retention, expansion, and referrals.
• Identify and establish strategic partnerships and reseller channels that extend Leaf CRM's reach.
• Work closely with marketing, product, and customer support teams to ensure smooth onboarding handoffs and feed market insights back into the product roadmap.
• Represent Leaf CRM at industry events, conferences, and networking sessions to build the brand and generate leads.
• Maintain accurate CRM records and prepare regular reports on pipeline, sales performance, and market trends.

About the Role

Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve annual revenue and profitability targets.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities within the data center and mission-critical facility sectors.
• Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through direct customer engagement, networking, industry events, and strategic partnerships.
• Establish relationships with key decision-makers including developers, consultants, EPC contractors, M&E consultants, and facility owners.
• Lead the entire sales cycle from prospecting and solution presentation to contract negotiation and project award.

Solution Selling & Technical Engagement

• Collaborate with engineering, design, and project teams to develop technical proposals and customized solutions.
• Conduct customer presentations, technical workshops, and solution demonstrations.
• Support bid management activities, RFQs, RFPs, tender submissions, and contract negotiations.

Customer Relationship Management

• Develop long-term strategic relationships with existing and prospective clients.
• Act as the primary customer contact for commercial and technical discussions.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for repeat business.
• Work closely with project delivery teams to ensure smooth project execution and successful handover.

Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning

Collaboration & Leadership

• Supervise workflow and provide guidance to team members where required.

Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma, Undergraduate Degree, or equivalent qualification.
• At least 8–12 years of experience within the logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain industry.
• Proven track record in sales, business development, client acquisition, and account management.
• Strong knowledge of import and export operations, freight forwarding, warehousing, customs procedures, and logistics solutions.
• Experience in Sea Freight and Air Freight operations, including import/export shipments, consolidations, and freight negotiations.
• Strong understanding of freight pricing, rate structures, and quotation management.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to identify and develop new growth opportunities.
• Ability to analyze business performance, trade lanes, shipment volumes, and prepare management reports.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook, including report generation and data analysis.
• Strong internet research and market analysis skills.
• Experience with CargoWise would be highly advantageous.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven with a strong sales mindset.
• Strong organizational and planning skills with excellent attention to detail.
